Open all 4 rinks. <br />3. Be careful in hiring rink attendants and T:ave a re- <br />sponsible adult monitoring each rink, and have them <br />report to the Council. <br />1;. Also e1ir~linate the $1,000.G0 in Line 5~t for Idaho <br />Snelling; equipment and put into the Youth Hockey Program. <br />Jirn Jernberg also questioned tr;hy there were such large increases <br />in the Council 3uc~;et and the Street Department 3udget. <br />1 <br />JITT JERN~3ErtG <br />154G t~;f. IOWA <br />mayor rlwr,entien reviewed the Council Budget and informed those i~iAYOR WARKENTIEN <br />in attendance that the greater part of the increase was various <br />League dues only. <br />I~layor ti~~~arkentien also noted the Street ~3udget was up due to <br />contracts received for seal coatit7~; and for one half tractor <br />tiahich must be purchased, one half of which is ~~n the Park Budget. <br />Informed Jim Jernberg that he had not mentioned a $00.00 cut COUidCILT~IET~EF~ <br />in the swnmer program and wanted everyone present to be aware BROU:~Id <br />that cuts in the total budget had to be made so that the City <br />could stay within the Levy Limitation. <br />Informed those in attendance that there have peen problems at <br />the school with rink attendants and serious vandalism. The <br />Council appoints committees to give council recommendations for <br />guidelines in City functions and operations. <br />Her opinion of the Fun and Physical Fitness Trail is that it SHIRLEY MORRIS <br />lends itself to vandalism and the need for ice skating rinks 1I~12 1n1. IDAHO <br />has a greater priority. <br />Questioned whether there should be some guidelines to detern;ine COUNCILMEMSER <br />whether or not there was a need for summer recreation due to BLACK <br />the fact that there are otLL~rer resources to draw from. <br />A question was asked as to whether senior citizens were contacted <br />to be rink attendants. <br />"I doubt that a senior citizen could handle the hose for flooding COUNCILP9ET~3ER <br />as they are rather cumbersome and flooding is part of the job TICC~JUGH <br />cf being an attendant." Councilmember hTcGough was also concerned <br />about them being beat up. <br />"The problers we are having is lack of parental input into I~fAYOR <br />the recreatior_ program. Years ago it was all volunteer and WAIiKENTIEN <br />with parental input. He suggested we go back to the organized <br />volunteer basis for each area. <br />
