Recreation Gommittee <br />recommend to the City Council. of Falcon Heights that the stmt <br />of One Thousand Eight Hundred 'and ao ceata ($1,800.00) be <br />withdrawn from the approved budget of the Parks Development <br />Gottuaittee and be put into the Recreation Committee Bridget <br />to enable us (the Recreation Committee) to keep all three <br />rinks open, with the rink at the Qrove being staffed by <br />volunteers. <br />Cota~ncilmeaber BroFm mentioned some of her concerns are that the <br />stmtmer programs bhould be continued and that a se~rior citit+ens <br />program should be retrit~red for impleaaentation enren though the <br />programs have been tried and were not successful and she also <br />feels the park should be developed on a continuing basis. <br />~~~ <br />1979 PARKS & <br />RECREATION <br />BUDGET REPIEw <br />(cont.) <br />Councilmember Black moved, seconded by Councilmeaaber McGough, to MOTION TO <br />reconsider the motion oP September 27, 1978 made by Councilmenaber RECONSIDER, <br />Steele and seconded by Councilmember Black, to retain 2 rinks in CLOSING 2 RINKS <br />lieu of the ~t rinks for the year 1979. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Cotmcilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember McGotagh that; <br />The Ci'!y of Falcon Heights maintain three (3) ice skating rinks <br />(Falcon Heights Comstnsnity Park, Falcon Heights School, and Idaho- <br />Snelling Area.) tlnring 1979 with the following stipulations, (a) <br />heated war~mi.ng houses, (b) minimal lighting, (c) paid attendants at <br />$2.00 per hour. The hours shall be as follows: Monday thru <br />Thursday 3s30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (!~ hrs.), Frier, 3:30 p.m. to <br />10:00 p.m. (~ hrs.), Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (10 hrs.), <br />and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 9s00 p.m. (7 hrs.). This includes 1 hour <br />each for lunch and dinner hour. Exceptions to these times will be <br />Christmas Vacation 12/22/78 to 1/2/79 and Mid Winter Break Feb. <br />19-23s 1979. Motion carried unanimously. <br />RINK I~DURS <br />AMID HOURLY PAY <br />Councilmeaber Brown moved, seconded by Coundlmember Mo(}ough to make <br />the follox3:ng line item adjustments in the 1979 Park Budget as folloro-s: <br />l2A .Winter Employees $2,922.00 <br />22 .Utilities $2,lur0.00 <br />`54 Capi#,o1 Outlay $2,71~O.oo <br />X500.00 P.T.A. Donation, $1,000.00 Fun and Fitness Trail, <br />~71tO.00 Idaho- Melling Improvement, $500.00 Miscellaneous <br />Iatprovements as recoaemended by the Clerk Adtaini.strator. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien opened the public hearing on use of Revenue Sharing ~'i~GIC HEARING <br />Funds for the year 1979 at 8 P.M.. It was explained to those iu REVENUE SHARING <br />attendance that the #'unds have been designated for use in policing FUNDS <br />services. <br />
