2~ <br />MINUTES <br />SPDCIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 17, 1979 <br />Page ~ <br />Mayor Warkentien recognized representative Niike Fritz as being in <br />attendance to observe the discusssion on Community Service. No <br />further action was taken. <br />Metropolitan Council Representative, Todd Lefko addressed Council <br />regarding the Comprehensive Plan for Falcon Heights. Clerk Admini- <br />strator Barnes requested a sample copy of a plan for a community of <br />a size comparable to Falcon Heights. Attorney Kenefick inquired if <br />it is possible for a city to prepare a Comprehensive Plan without <br />the aid of a hired planner. Mr. Lefko agreed to provide the sample <br />plan and check with his staff as to the answer-, to Attorney Kenefick's <br />question. -- <br />Mayor Warkentien informed that it was necessary to delegate an <br />Acting Mayor for the City a$ that position had previously been <br />held by Bill Black. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Brown that Councilmember Pete McGough be delegated by the <br />Council as the Acting Mayor for the remainder of Bill Black's term. <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted 'aye": .Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay'!: None. <br />Councilmember McGough abstained. Motion carried unanimously. Notion carried APRIL 11 <br />1979 <br />unanimously. , <br />Councilme~nber Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough to TREES TO BE <br />authorize the Park and Playground Development Committee to purchase <br />trees for th PURCHASED FOR <br />e community park for the sum of $322.50, the amount to <br />be paid from donations collected by the Committee. The planting plan PARK <br />is to be reviewed by the Clerk Administrator. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />
