MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 23, 1979 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, RESOLUTION <br />that Resolution 79-15 be approved as presented. 79-15 <br />RESOLUTION 79-15 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL HRA <br />TO APPLY FOR REHABILITATION GRANT FUNDS FOR THE CITY <br />OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />C <br />Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers McGough, Kurpiewski and Brown, and the following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested ,permission to plant a Sugar Maple SUGAR MAPLE <br />tree on City Property west of the City Office Building. Councilmember TO BE PLANTED <br />McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Kurpiewski, that the Clerk WEST OF CITY <br />Administrator be authorized to have a Sugar Maple tree planted on the OFFICE BUILDIN( <br />west side of the City Building. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the Garden Avenue <br />improvement plans and 1979 sealcoating project have been approved by <br />the State Department of Transportation and that a resolution is required <br />for finalization. Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Kurpiewski to approve Resolution 79-16 as presented. <br />RESOLUTION 79-16 RESOLUTION <br />79-16 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BIDS FOR GARDEN AVENUE <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (MSAP 124-105-02), AND THE 1979 <br />SEALCOATING PROJECT, AND SETTING A DATE FOR BIDS <br /> <br />Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmembers McGough, Kurpiewski, and Brown, and the following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien read to Council a letter from Marie Tranv, 1368 West NO BOULEVARD <br />California, requesting that no tree be planted on the boulevard in front TREE AT 1368 <br />of her home. Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown W. CALIFORNIA <br />that no boulevard tree be planted at 1368 W. California. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Councilmember McGough informed Council that Oksana Yonan has been. chosen SANDY CARSON <br />as Chairperson for the Planning Commission. Councilmember McGough requested HIRED AS <br />that the Planning Commission be authorized to use some of the funds received SECRETARY <br />from Metro Council for preparing of a Comprehensive Plan. It will be nec- FOR PLANNING <br />essary to hire a secretary to take minutes of the meetings, as there will COMMISSION <br />be 6 or 8 sub committees working on the Comprehensive Plan, which will <br />result in many meetings. Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Brown, to hire Sandy Larson as Secretary for the Planning Commission <br />at a rate of $4.50 per hour and to authorize the Planning Commission to <br />spend up to $200.00 for map reproductions or other necessities by requesting <br />funds from the amount established for the Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
