Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes suggested to Council that they consider 8" WATER MAIN <br />replacing the 8" water line along the north side of Larpenteur from LARPENTEUR <br />Cleveland to Fairview, in order to increase water pressure east of AVE. Motion carried. <br />Attorney Kenefick informed that he feels the City is only obligated to MILEAGE IN- <br />pay the amount listed on the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department's CREASE FOR <br />contract with the City of Falcon lieigiits (20G per mile). However, he SHERIFF'S <br />stated he also realizes there is a public relations problem involved, DEPARTTSENT <br />plus any future arrangements the City might have with the Sheriff's Dept. APPROVED <br />Engineer Lemberg suogeted that Council request the Sheriff's Department <br />replace the van used in Falcon :Ieights with a more economical vehicle <br />at the time the van must be replaced. <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough that the <br />City agree to pay 23G per mile to the l:amsey County Sheriff's Department <br />effective July 1, 1979, with the stipulation that this is a firm price for <br />the remainder of 1979 and it is not renegotiable in any form, and that <br />the Sheriff's Department consider purchasing a more economical vehicle <br />at the time the van is replaced. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember McGough presented to Council a detailed explanation of LEVY LIMIT <br />the Tax Levy Limitation Law and the bind the Council will be in at PRESENTATION <br />budget time. He explained that the tax levy limitation is based on COUidCILMEMBER <br />ner capita and not valuation and that you can increase your levy only MCGOUGH <br />6i even though the economy had increased substantially more. <br />GEORGE WILLKOM <br />(cont.) <br />
