MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING "~ <br />AUGUST 27, 1980 <br />PAGE 3 <br />Engineer Lemberg presented the proposed Resolutions drafted for the <br />purpose of removing the designation of Pascal as an MSA Street and <br />designating Tatum as an MSA Street. <br />Acting Mayor Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele that Reso- <br />lution 80-21 be approved, revoking Pascal as an MSA Street. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 80-21 RESOLUTION <br />80-21 <br />A RESOLUTION REMOVING PASCAL, LARPENTEUR TO ROSELAWN, <br />AS A MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET <br />Acting Mayor Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that Reso- <br />lution 80-22 be approved, establishing Tatum as an MSA Street. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 20-22 RESOLUTION <br />80-22 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING TATUM STREET, LARPENTEUR TO <br />ROSELAWN, AS A MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET <br />Acting Mayor Brown noted the new hourly rate of pay for the City's INCREASED <br />present Engineering Firm Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates ENGINEERING <br />(new rates to go into effect January 1, 1981). Engineer Lemberg stated FEES FOR <br />he had requested the City be notified of the increase in order that it 1981 <br />~, could be considered in preparing the 1981 Budget. <br />t <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed Council that the State Local Govern- LOCAL <br />ment Aid cuts will mean a loss of $13,985.25 to Falcon Heights this GOVERNEMENT <br />year. The Clerk Administrator and Mayor Warkentien did attend the AIDS TO BE <br />Governor's Meeting regarding the matter but were not allowed any input CUT <br />at that time. Ramsey, Hennepin and St. Louis Counties will not be cut MAYOR TO <br />as those counties are covered under separate legislation, which the Clerk APPEAL TO <br />Administrator felt to be most unfair. Council concurred and suggested GOVERNOR AND <br />that the legislators be contacted requesting the laws be changed to LEGISLATORS <br />include counties in the same guidelines as municipalities. <br />After some discussion Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Council- <br />member Larson that Mayor Warkentien respond to the Governor and that <br />a letter be directed to the legislators and the League of Municipalities <br />requesting that they support legislation which would include counties <br />under the same guidelines as municipalities. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Acting Mayor Brown acknowledged receipt of a donation of $200.00 from $200.00 GIFT <br />Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates for playground or related FROM BONESTRC <br />equipment. Councilmember Steele objected to accepting the donation as AND ASSOC. <br />he feels it is not proper to accept gifts from persons or firms dealing <br />with the City of Falcon Heights. The Clerk Administrator was directed to <br />write a letter thanking the firm for the gift. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes brought to the attention of Council a Notice of CITY NAMED <br />Claim from Attorney Stefan A. ~ Dlin, representing Pamela Stawski, who was IN CLAIM - <br />injured in a bus-pedestrian accident at Larpenteur and Arona on April 2, BUS-PEDESTR- <br />1980. The City is being charged with neglecting to correct a defective IAN ACCIDENT <br />semaphore and pedestrian flasher at the intersection. The Clerk Admini- ARONA AND <br />strator stated that the traffic light is serviced by Ramsey County and LARPENTEUR <br />that the defective light had been reported to the County on several <br />occasions following complaints from the deputy and citizens. <br />
