Motion carried. <br />Attorney Kenefick presented to the Council proposed <br />Ordinance 1~0 that would adopt the Minnesota Chapter <br />609 Mrisdemeanor Ordinance for Falcon Heights. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter from Pat Buschmann, in HOUSITJG <br />regard to the Human Rights Commission meeting of January AS,:~ISTATdCE <br />22, 1975 concerning the Metro Housing Bulletin, Section 8 PROGRAP~': <br />referring to Housing Assistance Payment Programs. A DISCUSSICTJ <br />discussion was held by the Council in respect to this. <br />M`:ayor Warkentien noted that Falcon Heights may have to <br />surrender its right of control. Pat Buschmann disagreed <br />with this, stating that there are no rights to surrender. <br />She ~.lso noted that TJancy Reeves should be contacted <br />about this, and suggested that the funds Falcon Heights <br />might need could be applied for, as the TZetro council <br />would act on this. She noted that Nancy Reeves could <br />do as much or as little as Falcon Heights would request, <br />upon the implimentation of this program, but that s'ne <br />would need information on the auart!r.ents. She also noted <br />that an inspection of the apartments would be required, and <br />that publication of this would be needed. The Council <br />noted that the i''letro Council would process the applications, <br />however, Pat Buschmann stated that the MIuman Rights Commisso~~, <br />would keep a list of the people needing assistance. Councilman <br />Black wanted to know what people would do if they Vad limited <br />funds, would they have to rent subject to a certain provision? <br />Pat Buschmann stated that the person in question ~ti*ould pay only <br />25~ of their income for rent, and that this proposal would <br />cover the rest. mhe Housing Bulletin was then read, and the <br />latest rent rates were noted.
