<br />Councilman B1.ack presented the discussion on the variance request of
<br />Bruce Harden, 1777 Simpscr., for a one and one-half story addition tc
<br />j,ne house. He noted the addition would fall within three feet of the
<br />lot 1i_ne, and proceeded to give a detailed description of the variance
<br />request itself and then read the Planning Commission's minutes that
<br />indicated approval of the variance.
<br />Counc:~_lman ?31ack moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, to approve the
<br />variance request of Bruce Harden. Upon a ~~rcte being taken, the follow-
<br />ing voted "aye": rlayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele,
<br />and L~balestra, and the i:~lloti'ing vc';ed "na,>~" t None. Motion carried.
<br />Mr. Kent Stah~_T,%, Recreaf-ion Advisory Committee Chairman, was present to
<br />discuss the motion rnad;e by tre G~:mimittee in regard tc registration,
<br />fees, and participation of Falcvn Heights children in Roseville recre-
<br />atianal programs. A discussion relative to this was bald, and Mayor
<br />U'arkentien .-indicated he would like to see a committee set up to nego-
<br />tiate S~ri_th the Roseville City Council on an amiable basis, a solution
<br />tw the fees charged Falcon Heights residents for participation ir,
<br />Roseville recreational programs.
<br />Councilman Steele moved, secon~zed by Councilman Labalestra, to approve
<br />the Recreation Advisory Committee's motion, and to set up a committee
<br />to negotiate a solution with the "o^ev-ilie City Council as to fees,
<br />participation, and registration of Falcon heights residents in Rose-
<br />ville recreational programs. Upon vote being taken, the folloi-aing
<br />voted "aye": Mayor Tr'arkentien, Counai'.~r:.en Black, Ecklund, Steele, and
<br />Labal estra, and the following voted "nay" : None. r•Sotion carried.
<br />Mr. Jim Duffy, representative of t'rie Falcon Heights Hockey to<~ms, was
<br />present to discuss the cean<s and to present three trophies the teams
<br />had won. He stated Falcon 'ie€~,hts riad a very good year, and they had
<br />~~'o firsts and one second in the traveling teams. IIe ~Luted the coaches
<br />had put considerable time into the program and rc~;'.stration, and that
<br />the teams were now ready for stiff competition. It was su€~gested that
<br />a trophy case be made to display the trophies at Lido's Cafe or at
<br />the City Ha1i. The Council requested Clerk-Admini_^trator Barnes tv

<br />T'ne Council cd.scussed possible plans and specifications for Arona,
<br />Garden, and Crawford, and the following motions were made in sequence:

<br />plans anr? specifications for Garden and Arona Avenues at their pre-
<br />sent width. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted 'aye" :

<br />Councilman Steele noteu that assessments on Arona would run about
<br />$5,000.00 a piece.
<br />Councilman Ec,lunu noted that a public rearing woulu be required
