97 <br />Minutes <br />August 25, 1976 <br />page 3 <br />Engineer Lemberg stated all street projects are going well. <br />A petition was presented by Mr. Dave Anderson to determine the cost <br />of curbs and gutters on Idaho. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, and it was seconded by Councilman Labalestra <br />that Council authorize Engineer Lemberg to determine the cost of curbs <br />and gutters on both sides of Idaho Avenue between Arona and Pascal. <br />Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Steele, Black and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />PETITION TO DETER- <br />MINE COST OF CURBS <br />AND GUTTERS ON <br />IDAHO <br />Upon consideration of Attorney Riach's letter and the advice of Attorney ~RNIE'S TREAT <br />Kenefick, it was decided that no action would be taken against Bernie's CENTER <br />Treat Center, Ice Cream vendor, and that this item would be dropped <br />from the agenda. <br />Engineer Lemberg reported that Hollywood Court is in bad condition and HOLLYWOOD COURT <br />advised against patching. He stated an estimate of new curbs, gutters, IMPROVEMENTS FOR <br />street and alleys is necessary. STREET, CURB, <br />GUTTERS & ALLEYS <br />Moved by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Labalestra to have <br />Engineer Lemberg to go ahead with a preliminary cost estimate for new <br />streets, curbs, gutters and alleys for Hollywood Court. Upon a vote <br />being taken, the following voted "aye's: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen <br />Black, Steele and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Engineer Lemberg stated that the State has established a ruling that SCHOOL ZONE SPEED <br />if a municipality so desires, they may, after meeting Engineering LIMITS <br />Traffic Study criteria as to pedestrian traffic, lower the speed limit <br />in the school zone within the municipality, thus by-passing the Comm- <br />issioner of Highways. Mayor Warkentien directed Councilman Labalestra <br />to follow up on this item. <br />Attorney Kenefick stated that the agreement between University Grove UNIVERSITY GROVE <br />and the City of Falcon Heights can be executed and dated today, August AGREEMII~iT <br />25, 1976. There are still problems pertaining to the legal description <br />of Coffman Street. Attorney Kenefick stated the agreement is effective <br />immediately and that in the future when the deed is conveyed, the streets <br />will become the responsibility of the City of Falcon Heights. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Labalestra and seconded by <br />Councilman Black that the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator be authorized <br />to sign the agreement between the Board of Regents of the University <br />of Minnesota and the City of Falcon Heights. Upon a vote being taken, <br />the following voted "ayes': Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Steele, <br />81.ack and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />A request to use City Hall facilities was presented from Anthony H. REQUEST TO USE <br />Williams of the Minnesota Rescue and First Aid Association, on CITY HALL - MN. <br />September 21~, 25 and 2b for a Hunter's Survival Safety Clinic. The ASSOC. RESCUE & <br />request was submitted by Clerk-Administrator Barnes. FIRST AID <br />
