MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 11, 1977 Page 2 f ~ ,,,~ Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor Black, APPROVAL OF to approve the minutes of July 28, 1977 as corrected. MINUTES OF Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting JULY 28, 1977 Mayor Black, Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Dr. David French appeared before Council and answered questions on the use of Arboteck as an alternate to Vapam. Dr. French does not have positive feelings that Arboteck will work, however, it has a better possi- bility of working than other methods. Dr. French suggested to Council it should be used on remaining trees along streets to stop the infection from moving up the street. Dr. French also stated to Council we should draft a proposal to the State Department of Agriculture for a grant for injecting Arbotech on an experimental basis. Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor Black, requesting Clerk Administrator Barnes and Dr. French to write a proposal to be presented to the State Department of Agriculture. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Mr. Bruce Rushton - 1469 California appeared before the Council regarding a boulevard tree removed at 1471 California. Clerk Administrator Barnes requested the tree be removed as it was a hazard. Mrs. Rose Ford, Northland Tree Service requested confirmation from the Clerk Administrator before removing the tree. Further discussion is deferred until full Council is present. DR. DAVID FREN DED TREE INJECTION BRUCE RUSHTON 1469 CALIF. Mr. Ray Schommer, 1497 Idaho, apeared before Council IDAHO CURB regarding the street improvements on Idaho, from Arona 8 GUTTER to .Pascal and asked Council what is going to be done. Engineer Lemberg reported to Council problems with grading on Idaho. There is going to be re-shaping and grading done to correct water run-off problems. Clerk Administrator Barnes reported to Council the two IDAHO-SNELLING bids received for the extra materials and erection of PARK FENCE BID the Idaho-Snelling Park fence. The specifications quoted on, were drawn up by Dave Anderson. The Viking Fence bid was $458.00 with out the bottom rail: the Crowley Fence bid was $627.55 with out the bottom rail. Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Acting Mayor Black to award the contract to Viking Fence at the cost of $458.00 with out the bottom rail.. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried.
