MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 11, 1977 <br />Page 2 <br />f ~ ,,,~ <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Acting Mayor Black, APPROVAL OF <br />to approve the minutes of July 28, 1977 as corrected. MINUTES OF <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Acting JULY 28, 1977 <br />Mayor Black, Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The <br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Dr. David French appeared before Council and answered <br />questions on the use of Arboteck as an alternate to <br />Vapam. Dr. French does not have positive feelings <br />that Arboteck will work, however, it has a better possi- <br />bility of working than other methods. Dr. French <br />suggested to Council it should be used on remaining <br />trees along streets to stop the infection from moving <br />up the street. Dr. French also stated to Council we <br />should draft a proposal to the State Department of <br />Agriculture for a grant for injecting Arbotech on an <br />experimental basis. Councilman Steele moved, seconded <br />by Acting Mayor Black, requesting Clerk Administrator <br />Barnes and Dr. French to write a proposal to be presented <br />to the State Department of Agriculture. Upon a vote being <br />taken, the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, <br />Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Bruce Rushton - 1469 California appeared before the <br />Council regarding a boulevard tree removed at 1471 <br />California. Clerk Administrator Barnes requested the <br />tree be removed as it was a hazard. Mrs. Rose Ford, <br />Northland Tree Service requested confirmation from the <br />Clerk Administrator before removing the tree. Further <br />discussion is deferred until full Council is present. <br /> <br />DR. DAVID FREN <br />DED TREE <br />INJECTION <br />BRUCE RUSHTON <br />1469 CALIF. <br />Mr. Ray Schommer, 1497 Idaho, apeared before Council IDAHO CURB <br />regarding the street improvements on Idaho, from Arona 8 GUTTER <br />to .Pascal and asked Council what is going to be done. <br />Engineer Lemberg reported to Council problems with <br />grading on Idaho. There is going to be re-shaping and <br />grading done to correct water run-off problems. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported to Council the two IDAHO-SNELLING <br />bids received for the extra materials and erection of PARK FENCE BID <br />the Idaho-Snelling Park fence. The specifications <br />quoted on, were drawn up by Dave Anderson. The Viking <br />Fence bid was $458.00 with out the bottom rail: the <br />Crowley Fence bid was $627.55 with out the bottom rail. <br />Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Acting Mayor <br />Black to award the contract to Viking Fence at the <br />cost of $458.00 with out the bottom rail.. Upon a vote <br />being taken, the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, <br />Councilmen Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />
