MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 10, 1977 <br />Page 2 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes brought before council for <br />discussion the Larpenteur Avenue flashers which are <br />hanging quite low and will pose a problem this winter <br />with the sanding trucks hitting them while they are <br />sanding our streets. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded <br />by Councilman Labalestra to request Ramsey County to <br />remove them. Upon a vote being taken the following <br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien Councilmen McGough, <br />Steele and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />~I8 <br />LARPENTEUR <br />AVENUE <br />FLASHERS <br />Attorney Kenefick brought before council for discussion SMOKE DETECTOR <br />a notice regarding smoke detector rules and regulations. <br />After discussion by council, it was decided to draft a <br />cover letter from the Mayor to be attached to the notice <br />and sent to all apartment owners in Falcon Heights. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported receipt of Anti- <br />Recession funds received from the Federal Govt in the <br />amount of $750.99. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested council to authorize <br />usage of these funds to be used for the median cut on <br />Larpenteur Avenue. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Labalestra to authorize Clerk Administrator <br />Barnes to use the funds towards the Larpenteur Avenue <br />median cut bill. Upon a vote being taken, the following <br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen McGough, Steele <br />and Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Council discussed the licensing of DeLange Dance Studio, <br />1550 W. Larpenteur Avenue, which is above Shakey's <br />Pizza. (license #438). Councilman Steele moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Labalestra to approve license <br />#438, for DeLange Dance Studio, 1550 Larpenteur. Upon <br />a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmen McGough, Steele and Labalestra. <br />The following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Council discussed the application for General Corporate <br />license #437, applied for by Hamline Foods now under new <br />ownership. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Council- <br />man Steele to allow a transfer of the General Corporate <br />License from one owner to another, providing there is <br />not a change in the type of business being conducted and <br />that the new owner pay a $15.00 transfer fee.
