MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 10, 1977 <br />Page 6 <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin appeared before council re- <br />garding the specifications on the new fire truck, Fire <br />Chief Renchin stated that he will have specifications <br />by the November 22, 1977 meeting. Mayor Warkentien <br />moved, seconded by Councilman McGough to authorize <br />Fire Chief Jerry Renchin to draw up the specifications <br />for the new fire truck, as designated through the <br />Special Election of November 8, 1977. Upon a vote <br />being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmen Black, McGough, Steele and <br />Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Council discussed continuance of membership in the <br />League of Minnesota Cities, at a cost of $1,326.80. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman McGough <br />to continue the membership in the League of Minnesota <br />Cities and to authorize payment of $1,326.80 for <br />membership fees. Upon a vote being taken, the following <br />voted "aye": Councilmen Black, McGough Steele and <br />Labalestra. The following voted "Nay"; None. Abstain: <br />Mayor Warkentien. Motion carried. <br />Council reviewed the membership to the Metro League. <br />After discussion by council, Mayor Warkentien moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Labalestra to join the Metro <br />League for a half year. Upon a vote being taken <br />the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien. The <br />following voted "nay": Councilmen Black, McGough <br />Steele and Labalestra. Motion denied. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported the added cost <br />for thermo lined drapes as requested by council. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Black to purchase the drapes from J. C. <br />Penney with RocLon lining at a cost not to exceed <br />$1,299.79, installation included. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted "aye": Councilmen Black, <br />Steele and McGough. The following voted "nay": Mayor <br />Warkentien and Councilman Labalestra. Motion carried. <br />122 <br />JERRY RENCHIN <br />FIRE TRUCK <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />LEAGUE OF <br />MINNESOTA <br />CITIES <br />METRO LEAGUE <br />MEMBERSHIP <br />DRAPES - <br />COUNCIL AND <br />FIRE HALL <br />Councilman Labalestra reported a price for Bethel College ~ <br />had been agreed upon. Councilman Labalestra also noted Bethel College <br />to council there would be a march on the Capital if <br />enough are interested from the area. <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from Mr. Mike <br />Heffron, State Fair Manager, stating his opposition to <br />the Job Corps. <br />
