~2 <br />Approval of Motion by Councilwoman Stocker, seconded by Councilman <br />Overtime Pay for Stone, to authorize the payment of two hours of overtime <br />Kenneth Quarn: pay to Kenneth Quarn, Maintenance Man, for Saturday, August <br />5, 1972. Motion carried. <br />Payment of 1972 Discussion was held as to the benefits derived from the <br />Dues to League of membership in both leagues as the Village belongs to the <br />Minnesota Munici- Ramsey County League of Municipalities. notion by Council- <br />palities - Metro man Stone, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the Village <br />League Membership retain its membership in the League of Minnesota ifunicipali- <br />Dropped: ties and drop the membership in the Metro League. Motion <br /> carried. <br />Liquor Store - George and Dick Rafferty of Progressive Designs Association <br />Changes Made by presented drawings for the Municipal Liquor Store. Fire <br />Architects and safety was a concern. A sprinkler system must be installed <br />Resolution for in the basement, however, there are two alternatives for <br />Advertisement fire provention in the upper floor. Either erect a $500 <br />for Bids - one-hour-rated wall on the south side of the building abut- <br />Resolution 72-26: ting Embers Restaurant or install a sprinkler srrstem in <br /> the drop ceiling at the cost of approximately $3000. It <br /> was pointed out by the architects, that the cost of insur- <br /> ance with the sprinkler system would be recovered within the <br /> first five years according to the figures given them by the <br /> Village insurance company. Total estimate for the project <br /> is approximately $55,000 to $5b,000. <br /> The contract agreements by the architect and contractor were <br /> presented to the Council. Bid bonds and performance bonds <br /> have been called for at 100 time and materials. The Coun- <br /> cil suggested that the bids be taken with both fire safety <br /> alternatives. This was agreed. <br />Engineer Lemberg questioned the adequacy of the parking <br />space and loading areas. George Rafferty explained that <br />nine feet was used as a buffer to soften lights on the resi- <br />dence to the east of the store. The Council suggested that <br />full use of the blacktop be made available. <br />The exterior of the new section can be finished in various <br />ways. The architects will get samples of the different <br />styles of brick for the Council to inspect. It would be <br />approximately $500 more for a maintenance-free brick. <br />Motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by 2~Iayor tidarkentien, <br />to hold a special meeting of the Village Council on August <br />31, 1972, for the purpose of accepting bids for the I~Zunici- <br />pal Liquor Store. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Stone introduced the following Resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 72-26 <br />RESOLVED THAT THE CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR BE AUTHORIZED <br />AND DIRECTED TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE REt~DELING <br />
