STEGIART'S REQUEST RESOLUTION #73-7 <br />FORA SUBDIVISIOrd OF THE SOUTt~ 91.76 FEET OF <br />THE NORTH 1721.18 FEET OF THE EAST l~90 FEET OF THE <br />S4J ~ OF SECTION 16, T29Zd SUBJECT TO ~1EG1 BRIGHTOrd <br />ROAD, ACCORDING TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT <br />SURVEY THEREOF <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was <br />duly seconded by Councilman Stone, subject to getting the <br />final signatories on the deeds. T~otion carried. <br />Councilman Black read letters from George W. Plant, Chairman VARIANCE REQUEST <br />of the Falcon Heights Planning Commission, to the Council 1631 N. SNELLING DRIVE, <br />members, regarding the variance request by Mr. P4arv Flodin, 1561 W. IDAHO <br />for an additional efficiency apartment at 1561 W. Idaho <br />Avenue, and 16311 N. Snelling Drive. The Planning Com- <br />mission recommended to the Council, approval of these variance <br />requests. They also recommended that the Village Engineer <br />review the available parking space, and make further rec- <br />ommendations to the Council. <br />TJpon review of the plans and available parking space, Engineer REVIEUI OF PARKING <br />Lemberg stated that an alternate parking plan be looked into, SPACE <br />in view of the proposed Snelling - Larpenteur interchange, <br />which would completely prohibit parking on Snelling Drive, <br />and some parking on Idaho Avenue. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Stone, that VARIANCE - <br />the variance request for 1631x. N. Snelling Drive, be approved, 1631 N. SNELLI?`1G DRIVE <br />to provide for an efficiency apartment at the above address, <br />with an addition of six garages and two additional tarvia <br />parking spaces at the rear of the building, as provided in <br />tl~e plans submitted to the Council. It was also stipulated <br />that the garages should be set back five feet from the north <br />lot line. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Stone, that the VARIANCE - <br />variance request for 1561 W. Idaho Avenue, be approved, to 1561 W. IDAHO AVErNE <br />provide for an efficiency apartment at the above address, and <br />provide for six tarvia parking spaces at the rear of the lot. <br />Notion carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to <br />deny the request by Universal Signs for the "lational Surplus <br />Store, 1511 W. Larpenteur Avenue, for a variance for a sign <br />that would be It' x 16' above the ~' x 32' sign, and adjacent <br />to the 1a.' x 8' sign presently at that address. Upon a vote <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor of denying the <br />request; Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and the following voted <br />against denial: ?'ayor Warkentien, Councilman Stone, and <br />Councilwoman Stocker.
