1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />?~Zayor Warkentien seconded the foregoing Resolution, and <br />upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Ecklund and <br />Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following voted <br />against the same: T~Tone. Whereupon, the Resolution was <br />adopted. <br />A letter inviting the Council to the meeting of the <br />League of Minnesota Municipalities, to be held at the <br />Holiday Inn, Roseville, was noted. <br />Councilwoman Stocker reported that a meeting has been <br />set up with Mr. Milton Cohen of the Hdrvey Investment <br />Company for October 16, 1973, at 7:30 P.M. She <br />stated that this meeting was set up in order to see if <br />the Cohen property could be upgraded for the welfare <br />of the tenants and the business community. <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes was directed to contact <br />Juran and Moody, Fiscal Consultants, to get a payment <br />schedule on bonds for the Falcon Heights Community <br />Park, in the amounts of $80,000.00, $90,000.00 and <br />$100,000.00, for ten years, fifteen years and eighteen <br />years. <br />T3. <br />LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA <br />MUNICIPALITIES MEETING <br />MEETING WITH P~I,TON COHEN <br />QUOTES ON BONDS FOR PARK <br />Mayer Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, RESOLilTION FOR REFERENDUM <br />to authorize the Attorney to prepare the Resolution for <br />a bond issue for development of the West Falcon Woods <br />Playground area on the south east corner of Roselawn <br />and Cleveland, to be put on the December ballot. Motion <br />carried. <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes was directed to contact COMM[JNITY PARK PLANTINGS <br />Rose Hi11 Nursery to see if they would be willing to <br />donate trees and shrubs for the Community Park, and <br />get estimates on plantings. He was also directed to <br />contact the University of Minnesota Forestry School <br />to see if they would be interested in working on the <br />development of the park as a class nro,iect. <br />The requests for variances by Ronald A. Nelson, 1761 VARIANCES - 1761 ASBURY <br />Asbury for the construction of a garage, and by Mr. AP,rD 1860 N. PASCAL <br />Andrew Geisen, 1860 N. Pascal for the construction of <br />a fence, were ref erred to the Falcon Heights Planning <br />Commission which will meet on October 9, 1973, at <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Engineer Lemberg presented a report on uses of the <br />State Aid Improvement Funds. He stated that the fund <br />presently has $191,327.50 in it, but that each year <br />the funds are not used a percentage is deducted <br />from the fund. The streets that are presently on <br />the State Aid roll are: Idaho, Arona, Crawford west <br />of Arona, and Pascal. A suggestion was made that <br />Idaho be taken off the roll and Garden Avenue be <br />put on its place. The Council requested that <br />Engineer Lemberg make a written recommendation as <br />to what he feels should be done with the funds and <br />what improvements should be made along with the <br />cost estimates . <br />STATE AID FUPdD USAGE <br />
