complex. The buildings would be five and a half stories
with a total of 320 units, consisting of 200 - one bedroom
apartments, 80 - two bedroom apartments and 40 efficiency
apartments. They are proposing a total of 320 garage
stalls with 100 to be built under the apartments, with
additional parking spaces for a total of 6l~0 parking
spaces. Several questions regarding the heighth of the
buildings were raised and it was suggested that the
developers discuss their plans with adjoining property
owners of Tatum Street to see if they would have any
objections to having buildings of that height adjacent
to their property. If there would be no objections
a variance would then have to be apAlied for as the
height restriction in the Village is thirty feet. It
was also suggested that that' contact the State Fire
Marshall regarding fire services for a five and a half
story building, including the garages.
Mr. Hartman, Mr. Rubinger, and Mr. Cooperman, stated
the buildings would meet all state and village building
codes. They stated that the complex would accommodate
handicapped people, would meet all fire codes including
sorinking and standpipes if required, the water line
would be looped, they would have sufficient room for
fire emergency equipment, the sewer lines would have the
capacity to accommodate the buildings and there would
be proper ventilation and exhaust for the under structure.
parking.
Portions of the property would have to be rezoned and
applications for variances and conditional uses would
have to be made as required.
ORDINANCE 131
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE LICENSING AND REGULATION
OF ITINERANT SALESi~AN AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF
Councilman Stone moved, seconded by Councilmen Ecklund,
to adopt the foregoing Ordinance. Upon a vote being
taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone,
and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following voted against
the-same: None. Motion carried.
Engineer Lemberg presented a report to the Council
regarding the intersection of Ruggles and Asbury. His
recommendations after making a study of the area were:
that the police periodically check the traffic on
Asbury for traffic control, that stop signs be placed
on the north and south bound traffic lanes on Asbury
at the intersection of Ruggles, that the property
owners of the northeast and northwest corners of
Ruggles and Asbury be contacted and requested to comply
with the Village ordinances regarding plantings and
fences.
Mayor Warikentien moved, seconded by Councilman Stone,
to accept the Engineers report and that stop signs
be blaced where recommended.
