Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #7l~-3 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCESS TO THE SAFETY DEPOSIT <br />BOX AT THE NORTH STAR STATE BANK <br />Councilman Steele seconded the foregoing Resolution and <br />upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund, and Steele, and the following voted against <br />the same: None. Motion carried. <br />Mr. James Klassen, Administrative Assistant of the Ex- <br />tended Services of Independent School~District #623, <br />and Mr. Don Holmgren, Roseville Chairman of the <br />Recreation Community Education Advisory Council were <br />present to discuss the extended services program with <br />the Council. This program is designed to get full <br />utilization of the area schools, with evening adult <br />educational classes, summer school, recreational <br />activities, community and civic group functions, senior <br />citizen groups, teen-age groups and drivers education. <br />Legislation has been passed allowing school districts <br />with such a program to levy a $1.00 tax per person <br />to be utilized for the program and its activities, <br />with the stipulation that it could not be used for <br />funding of existing programs. These gentlemen <br />reported that the school district has levied for the <br />coming year. <br />The committee would like to use Falcon Heights <br />Elementary School as a Model School, and have a <br />Recreational Director to coordinate programs in this <br />area. No action was necessary at this time. <br />3 <br />SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX ACCESS <br />MAYOR, ACTING MAYOR AND <br />CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR <br />RECREATION: COMMUNITY <br />EDUCATION ADTTTSORY COUNCIL <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, GENERAL CORPORATE LICENSE <br />to approve the general corporate license for Ace Tree ACE TREE SERVICE <br />Service, 2619 Longfellow Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, <br />allowing them to trim trees in the City of Falcon Heights. <br />Said license to expire June 30, 197l~. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, RCLM BY-LAW CHANGES <br />that the Falcon ?ieights City Council instruct its <br />delegate to the Ramsey County League of Municipalities <br />to oppose the proposed charter draft of the By-Law <br />changes as outlined in the letter of December 17, 1973, <br />by Stephen J. Briggs, Executive Director of the RCLM. <br />Fire report number 56 was noted. FIRE REPORT <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, DISBURSEMENTS - SECOND HALF <br />to app rove the general disbursements for the second half OF DECEMBER, 1973 <br />of December, 1973, in the amount of $l~,826.70. Motion GENERAL DISBURSEMENTS <br />carried. <br />
