Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Steele reported on the discussion he had with <br />Mr. Brinkerhoff of the University of Minnesota regarding <br />the special meeting held at the City Hall on April 17, <br />197l~, imrolving several staff members from the University <br />and the Clerk-Administrator, and stated that his staff is <br />now working on solving some of the problems brought to <br />their attention through this meeting, including fire, <br />police and rescue protection, and street, sewer and <br />lighting maintenance in the University Grove area. <br />45 <br />DISCUSSION WITH U OF M <br />REGARDING CITY SERVICES <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes was authorized to leave the IDAHO-SHELLING PARK <br />gates at the Idaho-Snelling Park open, and post notices <br />warning residents that the ponding area is a hazard, <br />and also authorize the maintenance men to pump the <br />ponding area when necessary. <br />Fire retorts numbers 18 and 19 were noted. <br />• <br />n <br />LJ <br />FIRE REPORTS <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, to MASTER GAS INSTALLERS <br />approve the Master Gas Installer's License renewal LICENSE #307 <br />for Northwestern Service, Inc., 2296 Territorial Road, <br />for the period of July 1, 197lt through June 30, 1975. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, PIZZA HUT - NON-INTOXICATING <br />to approve the Non-Intoxicating Malt Liquor "On-Sale" MALT LIQUOR LICENSE <br />License, submitted by Pizza Hut, 1650 N. Snelling Avenue, <br />for the period of July 1, 197 through June 30, 1975. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, <br />to approve the Refuse Hauler's License renewal by <br />Walter's Disposal Service, for the period of Luly 1, 197., <br />through June 30, 1975. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Black, <br />to approve the Refuse Hauler's License renewal by <br />Haul-A-Way Systems, Inc., for the period of July 1, 197Lt, <br />through June 30, 1975. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that the rezoning, conditional use and variance appli- <br />cations submitted by Alfred L. Hermes in reference to <br />the Hermes property, be taken off the table. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that the application for rezoning, conditional use and <br />variance of the Hermes property, described as: "The <br />South 15 acres of that certain 35 acre tract of land <br />described as the West 20 acres of the East ~ of the <br />SW ~ and the East 15 acres of the West 2 of the SGTi~ <br />of Section 16, T29, R23; excepting therefrom the <br />following property: Beginning on South line of Section <br />16, T29, R23, at a point 131 feet West of the 5Wt1y <br />corner of Westerly 20 acres of Easterly i~ of SW ~ of <br />REFUSE HAULER-S LICENSE <br />WALTER'S DISPOSAL <br />REFUSE HAULER'S LICENSE <br />HAUL-A-WAY SYSTEMS, INC. <br />HERMES REZONING <br />
