SNEI,LING AVENUE, AS COUNTY STATE AID HIGHG+TAYS, AS PER THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ENGINEER
Councilman Ecklund seconded the foregoing Resolution and
upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Acting Mayor Black, Councilmen Ecklund,
Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted against
the same: None. Motion carried.
r1r. Robert Kane of Roseville VFW Post 7555, was present
to discuss the possibility of relocating the club hd.thin
the City of Falcon Heights. Post 7555 is now located at
1085 Dionne Street within the City of Roseville, and
h e stated that the existing facilities are not large
enough for the existing membership. The purpose of his
appearance before the Council was to inquire if the
City has an ordinance authorizing the operation of
private clubs, and if not, if they would consider
adopting such an ordinance.
The Council was concerned about such things as added
police and fire protection, and administrative and
maintenance costs. The fee which the VFL~J would pay
is $300.00 for the operation of the club which is
governed by State Law, and the~Council feels that the
fee might not take care of any added expenses.
Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Black,
to direct the Clerk-Administrator to write to Mr. Kane
requesting that he submit a request to operate at a
specific site in the City. Determination will then
be made according to the allowed land use of the
property. Upon a vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Acting Mayor Black,
Councilmen Ecklund, and Steel e, and the following
voted against the same: None. Councilman Labalestra
abstained. Motion carried.
Engineer Lemberg presented the Northwest Area Storm
Drainage Plan to the Council, copies of which are on
file in the Clerk-Administratorts office. In this
report two storm drainage systems were proposed, based
on present zoning and based on possible higher density
land uses and development.
Engineer Lemberg 's recommendations were that the plan
be adopted as the official plan for the Northwest Area,
and that ponding areas, high water levels, and overflow
drainage routes be developed and maintained as necessary.
It was his opinion that proposed construction on the
Hermes property would be feasible, providing that a
ponding area be constructed and maintained as per the
report. No action was taken on the matter.
~o
REQUEST BY VFI^T TO LOCATE
IN THE CITY OF FALCON HEIGHT S
DRAINAGE STUDY REPORT
Mr. David Anderson, 1512 W. Idaho Avenue, was present to LIQUOR ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS
request that the Council consider rescinding the motion
made at the meeting of May 9, 7-974, said action being
the rescinding of the payment of interest on the Sanitary
Sewer Loan. He stated that he feels a proper accounting
