2783 <br />years and when contrasted, Falcon Heights Playground <br />and Falcon Woods Playground.. there is a difference in <br />potentiality of numbers of children. Some concern should <br />be shown as to an apparent lack of something at Falcon <br />Woods. Sometimes in neighborhoods there is an initial <br />thrust of enthusiasm which is sometimes not continued. <br />He would urge the mayor and council to survey in the Falcon <br />Woods area to determine number of parents and. children who <br />.are actually interested, and if there is an inadequacy in <br />the program, DeSchriver would like to know. He is of the <br />opinion that.on the basis of survey, if the .facts warrant <br />of ter analysis,~the council should either determine if other <br />recreational programs should be added or if any increase <br />or decrease of the program should take place. <br />Council agreed with DeSchriver that Recreational Advisory <br />Committee be sent copies of his 1968 Summer Recreation <br />Program Final Report. <br />During discussion it was brought out that due to the lack <br />of a sidewalk on Roselawn Avenue, many parents hesitate to <br />send their young children and the junior high children go <br />to Fairview Junior High School on their bicycles and do not <br />attend the Falcon Woods program. <br />Tennis Courts - Black has contacted Morris Nicholson, School Board Member,, <br />Falcon Heights regarding placing tennis^courts on the Falcon.. Heights School <br />Elementary School: grounds and it is believed a breakfast meeting. could be <br />arranged between the 15th of October (the day of the school <br />bond election for school building additions) and the 15th <br />of November. The mayor,,engineer, chairman. of the Recrea- <br />tional Advisory Committee Mrs. Billie Foreman and Black <br />would attend. <br />Ordinance No. 86 Stone introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />An Ordinance adoptions <br />Regulating the <br />Pla~iing, Mtce. WHEREAS, the attorney for the Village of Falcon Heights <br />and Removal of has been consulted in the preparation of proposed Ordinance <br />Trees etc. No. 86, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has held discussions to consider <br />the adoption of~Ordinanee No. 86, <br />proposed <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of <br />Falcon Heights that Ordinance 86, entitled ~An Ordinance <br />Regulating the Planting, Maintenance and Removal of Trees and <br />the Care of Boulevards; Requiring a License for the Removal <br />Trimming and Treatment of Trees; Controlling and Preventing <br />match Elm Disease and other Related Pests in the Village of <br />Falcon Heights; Providing Penalties for Violations; and <br />Repealing Ordinances Nos. 36 and 59" is hereby approved for <br />.passage. The Clerk is instructed to publish same in the <br />Village legal newspaper. Motion was duly seconded by Black <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the folloti~ing voted <br />for sames Warkentien, Black' Ecklund and Stone, and the <br />following voted against same:.
