Mr. Joyce: It isn't going to flow along the
is it?
2867
street from that whole district
Councilman Black: Most people are inclined to think that they won't have ar~y
problem, but it looks like there is going to be some problem.
Are we looking for a free ride?
Engineer Lemberg: We are not interested in a catch basin. You are still draining
an area. We are paying for a capacity to an outlet. Soaaebody
has to pay for this outlet. I am not saying that we have to
pay for an increase for pipe all the way down.
Mayor Warkentien: Would it help your problem to pay $17.00 per year instead of
$35.~ and spread it over 20 years? (No reply}
Engineer Lemberg: We are not saying $350 per parcel. The lot that was 20,000
would pay twice as much as the 10,000 square foot lot. If
the policy is changed, then you can go into the south district.
Forty-five percent of the water runs off, the other fifty-five
percent sinks in. We have asked Roseville to cut down, but it
has indicated that it will go down no further. Roseville assess-
ments are based on the average 10,000 square foot lot. They assess
$200 and commercial is assessed on a different basis. Rhe rest
of it is paid on general taxes. Its costs on this portion were
about 3~ cents per square foot. The total cost has increased.
Those people who go ahead should not have to pay for the
increased cost for someone else later on.
Paul Romanowski: Do you actually think that we eventually will have to have
storm sewer back here?
Engineer Lemberg: Yes, eventually it will come from the south. This is becoming
a mature area.
Paul Romanowski: If that is the case, this would be a more economical choice.
Three hundred and fifty dollars per lot is a lot of money to
me but if we don't take it now it may go up. What's the
actual projection for Roselawn?
Mr. Snyker: They are talking sometime beyond 1972. Roselawn is relatively
low in priority. Putting in this storm sewer makes it possible
for Roselawn to be upgraded. We have totake priority in line
with money available.
Mayor Warkentien: Are you being presented to upgrade for Rosedale?
Mr. Sr~rker : No .
Mayor Warkentien: Would you people like a show of hands on the minimum plan?
What catch basins would you put in?
Mr. S'nyker: MicIl3lock between Fairview and Tatum - one; Tatum - two; and
Fairview -three.
Engineer Lemberg: This plan is the plan drawn by Roseville, with the assumption
that all would participate. There was some misunderstanding
that there would be put in. The only other we would have to
install would be the two catch basins at Tatum. The other
catch basins are included in the $111,000.
