SPECIAL ~~'L;TINC THURSDAY r~.gARCH 6th, 1958, Cont' d. <br />Streets Unsurfaced Streets: <br />Contd. <br />Contractor shall assume responsibility for blading and grading <br />of unsurfaced streets and maintain same until they are ready <br />for the surfacing this Spring. These streets are Ruggles, <br />Snelling to Pascal. On this street the Village will take care <br />- of drainage situation now existing. Garden Avenue, Pascal to <br />Hamline. <br />The above two streets were mentioned as requiring immediate <br />attention. <br />4daple Knoll is another street which will require attention. <br />All other streets shall be patrolled by the Contractor and <br />maintained in satisfactory driving condition. <br />The Village is to notify ~~r. Steffes after the hearing R~arch <br />2ltth if Crawford is to be surfaced or left out of the surfacing <br />program under the J. W. Craig contract. <br />Contractor shall raise a manhole at the end of the sewer on the <br />north side of Larr>enteur Avenue. <br />Streets which require subgrade correction in the spring shall <br />be investigated and the existing, material removed to a depth of <br />1 foot to 3 feet and restabilized, ~4aterial removed and re- <br />placed in the upper 1 foot shall be paid for at the contract <br />price of $1.20 per cubic yard and for subgrade correction be- <br />low the top one foot payment for gravel stabilization shall be <br />paid for at the extra Arice of X1.50 per cubic yard. <br />ASSESSOR: P.Sayor Nilsen read the letter dated February 18th, 1958 from <br />Ronald V. Powers, County Assessor, relative to our nomination <br />of an assistant assessor in the assessment of personal property <br />in residences and checking the homestead classification. Under <br />the Special N:innesota Laws applicable to the assessment of <br />Ramsey County, each municipality and township within the <br />County is entitled to nomimate an assistant assessor. <br />Trustee Shavor commented on the matter of Personal Property <br />Assessment, and after discussion. of such taxes, Shavor moved <br />a resolution nominating William P. Carroll. of 1372 West Iowa <br />to serve as the Assistant Assessor to aid the County Assessor <br />for the taxing district of the Village of Falcon Heights for <br />1958, and instructing the clerk to notify the County Assessor <br />of the name and address of the nominee at once. Seconded by <br />Coppini, and adopted by unanimous vote. <br />Weed Inspec- It was moved by Nilsen and seconded by Shavor that ~rilliam P. <br />for Carroll of 1372 Idaho West be appointed as Weed Inspector for <br /> the Village of Falcon <br />he will be paid X1.50 Heights for the year <br />per hour for actual 19K8, and <br />time on the that <br />job, <br /> plus standard mileage for use of c:~ar, and that proper author- <br /> ities be so notified of the appointment by the Clerk. 1{otion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />~~~ <br />
