M. the Mayor announced that the Council would consider the I."~PROVE- bids received for the Tatum Street Improvement in accordance with the "J~ENT. provisions of the advertisment for bids which was read, such adver- tisment for bids having been published in the Rose Tribune June 19th and 26th. One bid was received from T. A. Shifsky & Sons, 361 Z'6. County Road E., St. Paul, 12, Minnesota for the improvement of Tatum Street from Larpenteur Avenue to Roselawn Avenue according to specifications prepared by Vern L. Ljungren, Village Engineer. There was a bid bond attached in the amount of one thousand dollars. The total construction cost of.the oid is ~8,673.l~5. It was signed by T. A. Shifsky, President, T. A. Shifsky & Sons, Inc. It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht that the yid submitted by T. A. Shifsky & Sons, Inc., for the improvement of Tatum Street from Roselawn Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue in the amount of ~8,673.1~5 be referred to Vern Ljungren, Village Engineer, for tabulation and recommendation. Motion unanimously carried. CRAWFORD Mayor Nilsen advised that the resident living at 1532 Crawford re- ALLEY ported that there was considerable water standing in the alley between Crawford and Larpenteur; and that if there was any amount of rain, the second garage from the corner would be flooded. Engineer Ljungren ad- vised. that the Drain Pipe that runs under the Flameburger which for- merly handled some of this water had been broken. There was a ques- tion as to whether the benefitted property owners could Le assessed for repairing this pipe, and the matter was turned over to Engineer Ljungren and Attorney Graham for further checking. It was pointed out that if the condition should become very serious, we could have the Fire Department pump the water as a temporary solution. ALLEYS It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Vdarkentien that the following resolution be adopted: IT WAS RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF FALCON HEIGHTS 1. That the petition requesting the improvement of the alley between Iowa and Hoyt from the east line of Pascal to the west line of Albert by grading and bituminous stabilization according to Village Standards which is hereby declared to be signed by the required percentage of vrmers~~gfoproperty affected thereby. This determination is made in conformance to Minn. Stat. 429.035. 2. That the petition requesting the improvement of the alley between California and Idaho from the east line of Albert to the West line of Hamline by grading and bituminous stabilization according to Village Standards w'~ich is hereby declared to be signed by the re- quired percentage of owners of property affected +„hereby. This deter- mination is made in conformance to Minn. Stat. l~29.035. 3. These petitions are hereby referred to Vern L. Ljungren, Village Engineer, and he is instructed to report to the Council advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvements are feasible, and as to whether they should best be made as proposed or in connectkon with other improvements, and of the estimated cost 1 1 1
