M. the Mayor announced that the Council would consider the <br />I."~PROVE- bids received for the Tatum Street Improvement in accordance with the <br />"J~ENT. provisions of the advertisment for bids which was read, such adver- <br />tisment for bids having been published in the Rose Tribune June 19th <br />and 26th. <br />One bid was received from T. A. Shifsky & Sons, 361 Z'6. County Road <br />E., St. Paul, 12, Minnesota for the improvement of Tatum Street <br />from Larpenteur Avenue to Roselawn Avenue according to specifications <br />prepared by Vern L. Ljungren, Village Engineer. <br />There was a bid bond attached in the amount of one thousand dollars. <br />The total construction cost of.the oid is ~8,673.l~5. It was signed <br />by T. A. Shifsky, President, T. A. Shifsky & Sons, Inc. <br />It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht that the yid submitted by <br />T. A. Shifsky & Sons, Inc., for the improvement of Tatum Street from <br />Roselawn Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue in the amount of ~8,673.1~5 be <br />referred to Vern Ljungren, Village Engineer, for tabulation and <br />recommendation. Motion unanimously carried. <br />CRAWFORD Mayor Nilsen advised that the resident living at 1532 Crawford re- <br />ALLEY ported that there was considerable water standing in the alley between <br />Crawford and Larpenteur; and that if there was any amount of rain, the <br />second garage from the corner would be flooded. Engineer Ljungren ad- <br />vised. that the Drain Pipe that runs under the Flameburger which for- <br />merly handled some of this water had been broken. There was a ques- <br />tion as to whether the benefitted property owners could Le assessed <br />for repairing this pipe, and the matter was turned over to Engineer <br />Ljungren and Attorney Graham for further checking. It was pointed <br />out that if the condition should become very serious, we could have <br />the Fire Department pump the water as a temporary solution. <br />ALLEYS It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Vdarkentien that the following <br />resolution be adopted: <br />IT WAS RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />1. That the petition requesting the improvement of the alley between <br />Iowa and Hoyt from the east line of Pascal to the west line of Albert <br />by grading and bituminous stabilization according to Village Standards <br />which is hereby declared to be signed by the required percentage of <br />vrmers~~gfoproperty affected thereby. This determination is made in <br />conformance to Minn. Stat. 429.035. <br />2. That the petition requesting the improvement of the alley between <br />California and Idaho from the east line of Albert to the West line <br />of Hamline by grading and bituminous stabilization according to <br />Village Standards w'~ich is hereby declared to be signed by the re- <br />quired percentage of owners of property affected +„hereby. This deter- <br />mination is made in conformance to Minn. Stat. l~29.035. <br />3. These petitions are hereby referred to Vern L.
