,.--~ -~ ~
The westerly 285 feet of lot 8, Annie L.
Hendrickson's Acre Lots, Ramsey County, Village of Falcon
Heights, ~dinnesc~ta, excepting from said tract the follow-
ing described parts
(1) The North 850 feet of said tract;
(2) The Pest 60 feet of the South 195 feet of said
tract; and
(3) The South 179 feet of said tract lying easterly
of the westerly 60 feet of said tract
be rezoned from Business District to Residence District
"A", "Subject to the present non-conforming use". All
persons interested in said proposed rezoning are hereby ad-
vised to attend the hearing at said time and place and to
participate in the said meeting.
Seconded by Shavor and unanimously carried.
Johnson, Architect for Spiegler Company, said they would like
to have the Planning Commission consider the neW proposed lay-
out at the same time they consider the petition. They would '
like to see if the Planning Commission has any other require-
ments~ and if-so, they will trg to work them out. In the new
plan, they have taken out the access to Fry Street, cut the
number of units dawn to 68, set parking back 30~, provided
18,lt08 square feet of fenced recreation area. The set back
from Fry Street is !t0'. There are 31~ between buildings and
they have provided off street parking spaces folt 8!~ cars
which equals 1.24 cars per unit. Of the 68 units, !t8 will be
2-bedroom and 20 will be 1-bedroom. They will provide land-
scaping and screening both on the front and on the north.
They would prefer public water, but if not available, they
would install individual pumps for each building. They could
cut down 1~ between buildings and leave a larger space to the
north.
Karstad objected to presenting new plan to the Planning
Commission along with the petition. He said their group had
been promised-that they would be included in any discussion
Kith the Planning Commission. He was told they would be at
the Public Hearing. Korstad said they have quite a few ob-
~ectians to the newly proposed plan and they have other plans
to discuss with the Cauncil and Planning Commission. Korstad
said he didn't think the petition should be tied up with
apartment or drive-in plans.
Membrez said to .divorce the newly proposed plan from the peti-
tion would be a strange thing. They are not compromising -
they have gone all out to overcome previous objections. Tha
new buildings will coat between six-hundred-thousand and
three-quarters of a million dollars, including equipment. To
present the new plan and the petition separately would 3ust
be wasting the Planning Commission's time.
Utecht summarized: We have a petition for rezoning, one re-
vised plan, and requests for building permits. The petition
and the revised plan are to be referred to the Planning Comm-
ission. The Council can decide on Building Permits after
the other two questions are settled.
