(c) New Year's day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are to be considered holidays. If an officer is required to work on any of these days, he will be paid at the overtime rate or given compensatory time off as he may desire. (d) Sick leave with pay may be granted by the Village Council depending upon the officer's length of service and vast attendance record. Any such payments are voluntary on the part of-the Council and each case is to be treated on its merits. Requests for sick leave pay shall be certified to the Council by the Public Safety Commissioner. (e) One week's vacation with pay will be granted for the first twelve months of service, two week's vaca- tion with pay will be granted for each twelve months of service thereafter. The vacation may be taken at arty time after six months of servic®, at a time to be mutually agreed upon, but will not be paid for until after the anniversary date of hire. 3.
