~ ~~ <br />_._. t rv <br />per hour only upon certification by the Public <br />Safety Commissioner. <br />(c) New Year's day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, <br />Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are to <br />be considered holidays. If an officer is required <br />to work on any of these days, he will be paid at <br />the overtime rate or given compensatory time off as <br />he may desire. <br />(d) Sick leave with pay may be granted by the Village <br />Council depending upon the officer's length of service <br />and vast attendance record. Any such payments are <br />voluntary on the part of-the Council and each case is <br />to be treated on its merits. Requests for sick leave <br />pay shall be certified to the Council by the Public <br />Safety Commissioner. <br />(e) One week's vacation with pay will be granted for <br />the first twelve months of service, two week's vaca- <br />tion with pay will be granted for each twelve months <br />of service thereafter. The vacation may be taken at <br />arty time after six months of servic®, at a time to <br />be mutually agreed upon, but will not be paid for <br />until after the anniversary date of hire. <br />3. The work schedule will be established by the Public <br />Safety Commissioner with the approval of the Village Council <br />and it shall be the duty of the individual officer to adhere <br />to this schedule. luny deviation from it must be approved in <br />advance by the Public Safety Commissioner. <br />!t. Polic® officers shall obey arty instructions or direc- <br />tions-given by the Public Safety Commissioner-, or, in his ab- <br />sence; the Mayor or the Village official designated by the <br />Mayor. <br />5. Police officers shall enter all violations, calls' <br />investigations, warnings or official actions, fully and com» <br />pletely, in the log book whether the offender is an adult or <br />a juveni7.®. <br />b. The only persons who are authorized to ride in the <br />squad car Kith police officers, other than Village officials, <br />are appointed Village officials and designated Village employees <br />and those who must be escorted. in line of duty such as law <br />violators, injured or sick persons, and those in attendance, <br />and emergency exceptions. <br />7. Police officers are not to patrol beyond perimeter streets <br />or go on calls outside the corporate limits of the Village <br />except toe <br />(a) take an arrested person to Roseville Police <br />Station for a drunkometer test; <br />(b) take an arrested person to the County Jail; <br />(c) in an emergency, to take a sick or injured person <br />to a doctor or hospital; <br />
