Paul, in
which he advised they will dive careful consideration to the
request of Falcon Heights for a hook-up to the 5t. Anthony Tank
on Cleveland Avenue and advise as to their conclusions as soon
as possible.
Financial Treasurer Olsen reported George Anderson expects to have the
Statement Financial statement ready for the printer next week.
Streets Ed Pennig's letter to Commissioner Salverda was read. The
letter referred to snow, ice and dust. Ljungren said he thought
the trouble with the dust was not due to the fact that the sand
used for sealcoating was not swept up but due to the fact that
the mat was laid when the weather was too cold and its disintegra-
tion. Ljungren also feels that the trouble at the Larz~enteur-
Snelling Intersection is due to this fact rather than the
tunneling the village did at the time the watermain was connected.
Coppini reported cars are still driving up over the curb on the
south side of Larpenteur in front of the business district be-
cause there is so much snrnr there you can't see the curb and
drivers think the crosswalk is a street opening. Coppini
suggested pre-cast curb at the sidewalk line. Ljungren said he
thought the business men might object to it because it would
make snow removal more difficult. Ljungren thinks it would be
better if the blacktop were dropped about ~t". This should
prevent the water covering the sidewalks as it now does.
Nilsen moved that the Engineer be instructed to write Harry
3ronson, County Engineer, regarding the unsatisfactory maintenance
and condition of Larpenteur Avenue. Seconded by Coppini and
carried.
Ljungren advised most villages line up their plans for street
work in March, and it was recommended that he do likewise for
Falcon Heights.
Public At this point, Mayor Nilsen recessed the regular meeting to
Hearing conduct a public hearing.
HEARING ON PROPOSED L~ulPROVEMENT OF FAIRVIEW AVENUE Fi3C VYATERA~IAIN
ExTENSION FROM L~RPENTEUR AVENUE TO A POINT 1162 feet North of
Larpenteur Avenue at an estimated cost of X3,688,00.
Mayor Nilsen read Legal Notices as published and posted, also
the Affidavit of Publication by the Rose Tribune.
Walter Sipess How far do you plan to extend the watermain?
Ljungren: 436' - past the corner lot plus 3 more lots.
