The Council can either reject or accept the bids, <br />readvertise for Herr bids or drop it. We will direct the engi- <br />ne~r to prepare plans and specifications, We will advertise <br />for bids - that takes six weeks to tiro months. Costs may be <br />completely changed. We have been pretty close in the past. <br />I think our Engineer has done very well. I am sure the <br />Engineer's estimate is about as close as anyone can come. <br />Dorrdells Do xe need the hydrant? <br />L~ungrens Yes, to insure fresh water, it xill have to be flushed fre- <br />quently, The Village is footing the bill for the hydrant until <br />such time as the rest of the street hooks up when it xill be <br />assessed. <br />Nilsen: The hydrant xill also provide additional fire protection. <br />You are all norr enjoying class 8 rate because the people <br />East of Snelling installed and paid for the hydrants. <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING IlWIPROVEMEIdT AND PREPARATION OF PLANSs <br />WHEREAS, a resolution of this Village Council adopted at the <br />meeting held January 28th, 1960, fixed a time for a Council <br />Hearing on the Proposed Improvement of Fairview Avenue by <br />xatermain extension from Larpenteur Avenue to a point t~62 feet <br />north, at an estimated cost of $3,688.00 and <br />WHEREAS a published notice of the hearing through 3 weekly <br />publications of the public notice xas given and hearing was held <br />thereon on the 25th day of February at which all persons desiring <br />to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard <br />1) Such improvement is hereby ordered as proposed in the <br />Council Resolution. <br />2) Milner A. Carley & Associates are hereby designated as <br />the Engineers for this improvement and for preparing <br />plans and specifications for the making of this improvement, <br />and making the necessary application to the St. Paul Water <br />Department for authority to make this extension. <br />Adoption of the above resolution was moved by Nilsen and <br />seconded by Shavor. The following vote was recordeds Coppini, Aye. <br />Shavor, Aye. Nilsen, Aye. The resolution carried. <br />Larpenteur It was reported that the proposed assessment roll for the <br />Avenue Larpenteur Avenue Watermain and Pumping Station has been prepared <br />Watermain & and filed with the Clerk. <br />Pump.
