1552 <br />Village Nilsen moved that the firm of Briggs and Morgan be engaged as <br />Attorneys Village Attorneys for the year 1961. Seconded by Shavor and <br />carried unanimously. <br />Deputy Upon the request of the Village Clerk, and after discussion, <br />Clerk Warkentien moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to <br />appoint a Deputy Clerk. Seconded by Shavor and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The Village Clerk then reported that he appointed Ethel E. <br />White as Deputy Clerk of the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Deputy Upon the request of the Village Treasurer, and after discussion, <br />Treasurer Warkentien moved that the Village Treasurer be authorized to <br />appoint a Deputy Treasurer. Seconded by Conpini and carried <br />unanimously. <br />The Village Treasurer then appointed Ethel E. White Deputy <br />Treasurer of the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Financial It was moved by Shavor, seconded by Nilsen, and unanimously <br />Statement voted that the financial statement for the year ended December <br />31, 1960 be published in the Rose Tribune. <br />Legal The following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote on <br />Newspaper motion by Warkentien, seconded by Coppinis <br />RESOLVED, that the Rose Tribune, a legal newspaper of general <br />circulation in the Village of Falcon Heights be and hereby is <br />designated as the Official Newspaper of the Village of Falcon <br />Heights, in which shall be published such ordinances and other <br />matters as are required by law to be so published, and such <br />matters as the Council may deem it advisable and in the public <br />interest to have published in this manner for the year 1961. <br />Depositories The following resolution was moved by Warkentien, seconded by <br />Shavor and adopted unanimouslys <br />RESOLVED,.that the Falcon Heights State Sank of Falcon Heights, <br />Minnesota, be and hereby is designated as a depository for the <br />funds of the Village of Falcon Heights and that the Village <br />Treasurer is authorized to deposit General Village Funds therein <br />to the amount of forty-five thousand dollars (~l~5,000.). <br />RESOLVED FURTHER, that the present collateral furnished by the <br />Falcon Heights State Bank consisting of forty-thousand dollars <br />(~I~0,000.) face value of U. S. Government Obligations accompanied <br />by an assignment providing that in case of default on the part <br />of the Falcon Heights State F3ank, the Council has full power <br />and authority to sell the collateral or so much as may be <br />necessary to realize the full amount due the municipality, is <br />hereby aprroved, said collateral. having a market value in excess <br />of 10~ over the amount of the above authorized. deposit in excess <br />of the amount guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance <br />Corporation. <br />RESOLVED FURTHER, that checks of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />drawn upon the said bank shall be honored by said bank only if <br />signed by the Mayor, the Clerk and the Treasurer of the Village <br />
