There is nothing in the law <br />that would prevent us from selecting a local civil defense dir- <br />ector that did not live in the Village of Falcon Heights. Vanelli and Weisenberg of Northern States Pourer <br />Lightings Company were present, also George Williams, representing <br /> the business, and Don Arndt, Public Safety Commissioner. <br /> After discussion, Nilsen moved that the Village request <br />Northern States Power Company to install 4 - 2300 lumen <br /> lights, 2 immediately ad3acent to the cross walk on Larpenteur <br /> Avenue, on existing poles, 1 at Crawford, across from dVeber's <br /> Cafe, on a new pole, and one at the Village Hall on a new pole, <br /> the only cost to the Village to be ~100.A0 per year, per <br /> light for the energy. Seconded by Coppini and carried. <br />Car Wash: After discussion, it was moved by Warkentien, seconded by <br /> Coppini and unanimously voted that the Village enter into a <br /> contract with the State Fair Car Wash at $65.00 a year for <br /> unlimited washes for the squad car; the year to run from <br /> April 1st, 1961 to April 1st, 1962. <br />Police After discussion, it was moved by ~idarkentien, seconded by <br />Uniforms: Mortenson and unanimously voted that the Village buy each <br /> officer a pair of Tropical V'r'orsted Slacks at $21.95 per pair. <br />Rezoning, Mr. Weigt appeared before the Council to request commercial <br />Ernest or light industry rezoning for his property at 1687 W. <br />ti'~eigt: Larpenteur. It was resolved that the Village shouldn't do <br />any rezoning until after zoning plans are completed and <br />public hearings held. It was suggested that A4r. Weigt <br />contact Howard Dahlgren, Village Planner, for his opinion. <br />League of Mrs. K~elland and Mrs. VanderHorck were present to represent <br />Women Voters: the League of Women Voters. <br />
