175l~
Hustrulid: ti'Vho's yelling for changes in this area? VY'ho is asking for all
this planning?
Nilsen: The status quo can't possibly hold forever. Had there been some
indication of what might be done, we wouldn't have all these
problems today.
J. P~acGregor I think the plan they have is almost inhuman. We bought 18 years
1795 No. ago because we wanted land. There are not very many children on
Fairview: Fairview. If the University land is developed, there will have
their own playground. We don't want a street. We would have
100' of sewer, and at a thousand dollars per hundred feet?
We would have lt00' of water line, 1100' of gas line and 600' of
street. You can see that it is almost an untenable nroblem.
The lots we would have left would be small. One is very low.
It is a run-away for water but it isn't a ponding area.
It goes down very quickly when the ground thaws. I don't know
why the street has to go there. It could be run through to Tatum
at much less cost.
Anderson, 1775 We have lived here six months. We came out because it was a
Fairview: di~'ferent kind of property and we enjoyed it very much. I
would heartily agree that a long-term plan would be desirable.
I do feel that this Engineer's Drawing has made the question con-
crete. I do not look upon this plan as a draft. It is an earnest
money contract. I think it should be carefully considered even
though action isn't planned until far into the future. The
shortness of the lots, the spur street, the effect on the Disanto
lot, that Dart which will be left over (I wouldn't want to buy it).
The line would come 20 feet behind our house, nor would we narticu-
larly care to have the two transverse lots to the rear. The cost
of the spur would be a very serious item. It would not be to the
advantage of either the P,4acGregors or us even though we abut it.
There is a possibility of a sanitary sewer. Is there any other
'ocation for the spur street. I have no other alterna+.,ive but
to oppose this plan.
Nilsen: Thank you.
Lemberg: The ponding area proposed on here is only a plan showing what
could be done. The ponding area has been set up as it is because
this is the lowest area. The Council has made some effort in the
past and is working now to find a solution with a storm sewer in
connection with the University of Minnesota, Roseville and the
Fair Grounds.
Nilsens The purpose of this meeting is to bring forth the best ideas we
possibly can.
'~,2. Young- t~'4`e moved out here for the same reason. We love land and now I
ner, 1867 W. am gDing to have a 17 unit a-~artment house right next door.
Larp
..
Nilsen: This meeting is not for the purpose of discussing that matter.
Vae will nut you on the agenda for May 23rd at 8 P. PAR.
