Barnes provided information on Recycling
Plus, Inc., a firm which will provide curb-side pick up and would be willing to
have a representative attend a Council meeting for discussion. Chenoweth moved,
seconded by Baldwin, that a recycling committee be organized. Motion carried
unaimously. Council requested that a notice requesting volunteers for a
recycling committee be placed in the newsletter and that arrangements be made
for a representative of Recycling Plus to attend the February 12th meeting.
STORM SEWER STUDY TO BE PRESENTED FEBRUARY 12, 1986
Hard commented on the fact that the storm sewer study which was to be prepared
by the engineer is past due (due 12/31/85). Barnes informed that the engineer
has indicated the report will be presented at the February 12th meeting, after
which Council stressed that the report must be available for delivery in the
agenda packets for February 12th.
FULL TIME FIREFIGHTER DISCUSSION
Chenoweth reported that he had met with Chief Renehin and Barnes and presented
the latest draft of the Sob description which resulted from that meeting.
After reviewing the document Council concurred that an item should be included
requiring the person hold and maintain proper certifications (necessary
certifications to be determined by the Chief). Starting salary, benefits, and
mileage were also discussed after which Baldwin moved, seconded by Hard, that
the additional item be included and that the mileage rate be set at $.20 per
z mile. Motion carried unanimously. Council also directed that the position be
advertised in the League of Minnesota Cities Magazine.
WATERSHED REPRESENTATIVES APPOINTED
Hard moved, seconded by Baldwin, that the Engineer be appointed as
representative to the SW Ramsey and Central Ramsey Watersheds, with the Clerk
Administrator as alternate, and the Clerk Administrator be appointed
representative to the East Mississippi Watershed District, with the Engineer as
alternate.
