<br />Proposed (1) Fire Chief'9weinson's request for an amendment to Ordinance No. 1,
<br />Fire Dept. making it mandatory to report to the Fire Department any fire
<br />Ordinance involving loss by fire of X25.00 or more, whether the Fire Depart-
<br />amendment went is called to the scene of- the fire or not.
<br />(2) Recommendation of the Fire Department committee that Fire
<br />Fire Department equipment items listed in the Fire Chief's letter
<br />equipment of March 11, 1952, be purchased. Chairman Hustrulid pointed
<br />out that these items had been provided for in the 1952 budget.
<br />Repair (3) Recommendation of committee that repairs be made t o living quarters
<br />Fire Chief's of Fire Chief made necessary by re-occurrence of cracks in walls
<br />apt. and ceilings.
<br />Purchase (4) Recommen dati on that the cou ncil set a maximum amount that the
<br />authority Fire Chief may spend for Fire Department purchases.

<br />Dry wells Rekstad reported that the two dry wells on Village property, Snelling
<br />Village and Idaho, had been completed by Contractor Harold roller and were
<br />property functioning very satisfactorily in taking Dare of flood water. He said
<br />it was necessary to dig each well to a depth of about 24 feet in order
<br />to be down five feet into boulders.
<br />Ealy G. Consulting Engineer, of St Paul, appeared before the Council in
<br />Briggs con;nectimg with engineering services provid ed by his firm, referring
<br /> esp~9eially to their recent installation of a sanitary sewer system
<br /> in 'the Village of Lauderdale.
<br />Allays In connection with petitions for improving (1) the alley between Iowa
<br /> and Idaho from Ham~ine to Albert (2) the alley between Hoyt and Iowa
<br /> frrnn Pascal to Arona (3($ the alley between California and Lela~aenteur
<br /> from Pascal to Arona (4) alley between Calif ornia and Idaho from
<br /> Albert to Pascal. It was agreed to have Commissioner Seaborn ask
<br /> M.1N. Carley to check said alleys and to recommend type of surfacing
<br /> with estimates of cost, the Mayor to call an informal meeting with
<br /> the property owners on each alley when Mr. Carley's report is received
<br /> to see if agreement can be reached as to type of work to be done before
<br /> giving notice of public hearing and preparing plans and specifications
<br /> for these pro3ects.
