Mr. P. Haspel, Manager of <br /> Falcon Dry Cleaners, and his attorney, Joseph L. Bard, were <br /> present. Also present at Mr. Haspel's request were Ira C. <br /> Maxwell, Presid ent of Unipress Company; Mr. Carlson, of the <br /> U.S. Hoffman Machinery Company; and Mr. Joseph Williams, of <br /> the Laundry Workers Union. Mr. Bard opposed passage of the <br /> ordinanc® and requested that his client, Mr.Haspel, be given <br /> a period of 60 days to see what could be done to improve <br /> conditions co mplained of. A number of residents were in <br /> attendance and urged adoption of the ordinance. After much <br /> discussion, the Falcon Dry Cleaners agreed to prepare plans <br /> for making improvements and to submit the plans to the council <br /> at their July 8, 1952, meeting. <br />Minutes At 10 P.M. the regular order of business was resumed and minutes <br /> of regular meeting, May 27, 1952, were heard and approved as <br /> read. <br />Rees re Letter of June 5, 1952, from Douglas Rees, regarding installation <br />curbing on of curbing on Larpenteur bettyeen Snelling and Arona and the <br />Larpenteur width of curb cuts, was read. Trustee Rekstad was furnished a <br /> set of plans to be turned over to Mr. Rees for the latter's <br /> inspection. <br />Curbing Following bids were received and opened: <br />Larpenteur <br /> (1) Proposal of Standard Stone Company, 342 S. Snelling Avenue, St Paul, <br /> Minnesota, to do strai ht concret curb, X2.15 ft., total $1,870.50. <br /> Radius concrete curb, 2.25 ft. or $223.00. work to be commenced <br /> by July 1, 1952 and completed by July 15, 1952, together with <br /> certified check of Standard Stone Co. to the Treasurer, Falcon <br /> Heights, far X215.00 on the Empire National Bank of St Paul. <br />(2) Proposal of Pederson Brothers, 534 Glendale, St Paul, to do straight <br />concrete curb at X2.10 Pt., total X1,827; radius concrete curb, <br />X2.25 ft., total X243.00. Work to be commenced before July 1st and <br />completed by July 15, 1952, together with certified check of <br />Pederson Brothers payable to the Village in the amount of ~p210.00 <br />drawn on the Midway National Bank. <br />(3) Proposal of Crown Sidewalk & Block Company, Inc., 2501 1Rashington <br />St. N.~., Minneapolis, B~;innesota, to do the straight concrete <br />curb at X2.10 ft., total X1,827 and the radius curb at X2.35 ft., <br />total X253.90. Work to commence by July 1st and be completed by <br />July 15, 1952, together with certified cheek to the Village for <br />$210.00, on the Central Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis. <br />Resolution After reviewing the foregoing bids and it appearing that the bid <br />of Pederson, 534 Glendale Avenue, St Paul, Minnesota, is the lowest <br />~~~pol~ible bidder, the following resolution on motion by Henry, <br />seconded by Lindig, was adopted by a unanimous vote: <br />
