543 <br />Posting places On motion by Stenzinger, seconded by Cartwright, the following <br /> posting places were designated for 1955: <br /> (1) Blomberg's Store, Iowa and Hamline avenues <br />(2) N <br />ti <br />l T <br />St <br />L <br />d <br /> ea <br />ona <br />a <br />ore, <br />arpenteur an <br />Snelling avenues <br /> (3) Gibbs School, Cleveland and Larpenteur avenues <br />Council meetings On motion by Cartwright, seconded by Stenzinger, it was <br /> voted unanimously that regular meetings of the council be <br /> held on the second and fourth bVednesda.ys of each month, in <br /> the Village Hall, beginning at 7;30 P. M., with provision <br /> that if the meeting date falls on a. legal holiday that the <br /> meeting be held on the next secular day. <br />Safety deposit box Cartwright moved that the Village continue renting a safety <br /> deposit box at the Falcon Heights State Bank at a rental of <br /> X5.00 per year. Seconded by Hustrulid and carried unanimously. <br />Street Commissioner Stenzinger moved appointment of G.S. Seaborn as Village Street <br /> Commissioner for 1955• Seconded by Stewart, motion carried <br /> unanimously, and Seaborn declared duly appointed to office. <br />Building Inspector Stewart moved appointment of Nick Christensen as Building <br /> Inspector for 1955, seconded by Cartwright, motion carried <br /> unanimously, and Christensen declared duly appointed to <br /> office. <br />Planning Commission In connection with vacancy on the Planning Commission as of <br /> December 31, 1951, Cartwright moved appointment of J. A. <br /> Gallaher as a member of said Commission for a term of three <br />°#~ years, commencing January 1, 1955. Seconded by Hustrulid, <br /> motion carried unanimously, and Gallaher declared duly <br />' appointed to office. <br />' Fire Department Hustrulid moved that the appointment of a Fire Department <br />committee committee be deferred. Seconded by Cartwright and motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />Public Safety Stenzinger moved. that Don Arndt be appointed Public Safety <br />Supervisor Supervisor for 1955.. Seconded by Cartwright, motion carried <br /> unanimously, and Arndt declared duly appointed to office. <br />Public Safety Cartwright <br />mgv~ <br />~i to appoint as members of the Public Safety <br />Commission ~ <br />~ <br />Commission; S. D. Bumgardner., Jr., Milton H. Bohn and Don <br /> Arndtry S. D. Bumgardner to serve as Chairman. Seconded by <br /> Shavor, motion carried unanimously, and Bumgardner, Bohn <br /> and ~sndt declared duly appointed to office. <br />Legislative Shavor moved that the following be appointed to membership <br />Committee on the Legislative committee for 1955: Lynn Matteson, Chairman; <br /> Ed Johnson, John Gasink, Kenneth Hanson and Ralph Van Hoven. <br /> SPCOnded by Hustrulid, motion carried unanimously and said <br /> nominees declared duly appointed to office. <br />Civil Defense <br />directors On motion by Stenzinger, seconded by Cartwright, it was voted <br /> to appoint George E. Swanson, Director, Civil Defense. On <br /> motion by Stenzinger, seconded by Hustrulid, n~rs. J.R. Struble <br /> was appointed to the office of Director, Women's division, <br /> Civil Defense. <br />
