<br />Standby contract, In the matter of working out a proper adjustment in the
<br />Lauderdale charge for standby fire protection with the Village of
<br />Lauderdale, Stenzinger and Shavor, acting as a committee
<br />for this purpose, said they had decided to write a letter
<br />as a means for arranging a meeting between themselves and
<br />Lauderdale representatives for this pttupose.
<br />Sanitary Sewer The Clerk read a.,letter from the,Legislative committee dated
<br />April 12, suggesting in connection with sanitary sewer matters
<br />that the engineering .firms interested in handling the engineering
<br />work for our Village be interviewed at a later meeting, Also
<br />read was copy of a report transmitted by St Paulrs Commissioner
<br />of Public Works, Frank D. Marzitelli, from Chief Engineer
<br />George M. Shephard on the general sewer situation with respect
<br />to Falcon Heights and Roseville,~rve--rv~ear Also read was
<br />the amendment to the Bannister Engineering Company~s proposal

<br />Advertising Building Inspect,~r Christensen presented an application from E"4rR~'~~h
<br />sign the Naegle Advertising Company, Inc., of Minneapolis, for
<br />permit to erect an advertising sign on the roof of 1~l~3 W,
<br />Larpentenr. On recommendation of the Building Inspectors .
<br />that:~he .had checked the structure and found it satisfactorg,
<br />Hustrulid moved that issuance of the permit be authorized.
<br />Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Van Packer Request to construct a Van Packer chimney at 2286 Folwell,
<br />chimney and letter from Elizabeth S. Close, Architect, in this
<br />connection, were considered. Our attorney advised that
<br />construction of this type of chimney would require an
<br />ordinance amendment. In reporting on the Van Facker chimney,
<br />Gas Inspector Larson stated it puts too much weight on
<br />floor joists. After discussion, Cartwright moved not to
<br />permit such variance. to the ordinance. Seconded by Stewart
<br />and motion carried.
<br />Chimney Hustrulid then moved that Trustee Shavor and Building Inspector
<br />study Christensen be appointed as a committee to study chimney
<br />ordered. construction and report back to the council. Seconded by
<br />Cartwright and so ordered.
<br />Incinerator has Inspector Elwood Larson reported on an instance where
<br />installation a gas incinerator installation was made after the gas burner
<br />had been installed. The chimney aluminum liner required
<br />for the gas burner insta~;lation, was not removed when the
