644 <br />Gas Inspector Cartwright moved the appointment of Elwood D. Larson as <br /> Gas Inspector for the Village for 1956. Seconded by Utecht <br /> and motion carried unanimously. <br />Salaries After discussion, Shavor moved that the salaries of elected <br /> Village officers for 1956 be set in amounts the same as <br /> last year. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Utecht moved that Acting Volunteer Fire Chief Earl Grumke <br /> be paid a monthly salary of X35.00 effective beginning <br /> January 1 , 1956. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br />Legislative <br />committee Utecht moved that the following be appointed to membership <br /> on the Village legislative committee for 1956: Ralph Van Hoven, <br /> Chairman; B. J. Rechtiene, Lynn Mattson, Edwin Johnson and <br /> John Gasink. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Civil Defense Nilsen moved the appointment of Earl Grumke as Director, <br /> Civil Defense, for 1956, and the appointment of Mrs. Veronica <br /> K~elland, Civil Defense director, Women's division, for 1956. <br /> Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. <br />Parks & Playgrounds On motion by Utecht, seconded by Cartwright, it was voted <br /> unanimously to appoint the following to our Parks and Playgrounds <br /> Committee: B.J. Rechtiene, Chairman; Mrs. Joan Carley, John <br /> Gasink, Mrs. Bonnie Johnson, Joe Jansek, Howard Rose and Mrs. <br /> George Calander. <br />Board of Health It was reported that term of office for one member of the <br /> Board of Health; namely, Robert C. ffiomberg, expires as of <br /> January this year; also that Mrs. Kathleen Weiss' term <br /> expires January 1958; and term of Dr. Thos, Krezowski, <br /> Chairman of said Board, expires January 1957. Stewart <br /> moved that Robert C. Blomberg be appointed to Board of <br /> Health membership for a term of three years. Seconded by <br /> Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br />Village Engineer After discussion, Nilsen moved the appointment of Milner W. <br /> Carley as Village Engineer for the year 1956. Seconded by <br /> Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Sewer Commission Utecht moved that the following members constitute a Seger <br /> Commission; namely, Andrew Hustrulid, Chairman, and <br /> Frank Gonney. Seconded by Cartwright and motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br />Fublic Relations <br />and Larson Committee Utecht moved that the following members be appointed <br /> as a Public Relations and Liaison Committee; Earl Anderson, <br /> Chairman; Mrs. R. Canfield, Richard Johanson and L. J. <br /> Rustad. Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Police Survey Cartwright moved that a Police Survey Committee be set up <br />Committee temporarily for the purpose of making a survey of our present <br /> police protection and making recommendations to the council, <br /> membership of said committee to be as follows: Philip Stocker, <br /> Chairman; William Olsen, W.L. Hinderman and P.L. Coppini. <br /> Seconded by Utecht and carried unanimously. <br />
