Upon motion by Mayor Utecht, <br />seconded by Cartwright and passed unanimously, <br />Trustee Cartwright was requested to procure a <br />credit report on Mr. Schoen. <br />Resignation - 4. The written resignation of Raymond L. Merkel, <br />Fireman Rsy Merkel signed Thursday, December 20, 1956, was read to <br />the Council. Upon motion by Mayor Utecht, seconded <br />by Cartwright, the Council unanimously accepted the <br />resignation of Raymond L. Merkel as of January 1, <br />1957, and directed that a letter be written to Mr. <br />Merkel advising him of the acceptance of his resig- <br />nation. <br />5. Trustee Cartwright moved, seconded by Mayor <br />Utecht and unanimously passed, that Raymond <br />Merkel be paid his salary to January 1, 1957, plus <br />ore week's paid vacation time. <br />6. Fire reports and personnel and drill reports <br />of the Fire Department were received, noted <br />and ordered filed. <br />Northome Mr. Christensen submitted the application of North- <br />Shopping ome Shopping Center, Inc, to remodel office space on <br />Center, Inc. the second floor of the west wing at 1550 West Lar- <br />Building penteur Avenue. Upon motion by Mayor Utecht, seconded <br />Permit by Cartwright and unanimously carried, the Village <br />inspector was authorized to issue the necessary permit. <br />Nuisance Walter Hermes of Rose Town Sanitation, 1768 Pleasant <br />Matters Street, Lauderdale, appeared before the Council as <br />requested by Trustee Nilsen. He stated that one of <br />his drivers had dumped a quarter load of affluent near <br />17+5 Tatum a few weeks ago. He was advised that he <br />could not dump anywhere within the Village of Falcon <br />Heights. There was some discussion about the difficulty <br />of finding places to dump and it was suggested that he <br />contact Dr. Schoch, County Health Officer, to see if <br />some place in the County could be found where this <br />could be done. Upon motion by Mayor Utecht, seconded <br />by Cartwright and unanimously carried, it was directed <br />that a letter be written to Rose Town Sanitation ad- <br />vising them that they cannot dump anywhere in the <br />Village of Falcon Heights. <br /> <br />
