w ~t~ <br />Police Commissioner Shavor moved that Donald E. Arndt be appointed Police <br />Commissioner for the year 1957. Seconded by Nilsen and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Legal newspaper The following resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote <br />on motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart: <br />RESOLVED, That the Rose Tribune, a legal newspaper of general <br />circulation in the Village of Falcon Heights be and it hereby <br />is designated as the official newspaper of the Village of <br />Fatleon Heights, in which shall be published such ordinances <br />and other matters as are required by law to be so published, <br />and such other matters as the council may deem it advisable <br />and in the public interest to have published in this manner <br />for the year 195'~.~ <br />Planning Commission It was reported that C.K. Otis's term of office as member <br />of the Planning Commission expired as of December 31, 1956. <br />Shavor moved the appointment of C.K. Otis as a member of <br />C. K. Otis - said Commission for a term of three years, commencing <br />January 1, 1957• Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />David P. Cartwright - In connection with the vacancy on the Planning Commission <br /> caused by member Lorris Williams' resignation in 1956, <br /> Nilsen moved appointment of David P. Cartwright to said <br /> office, term of which expires as of December 31, 1958. <br />Seconded by Shavor and motion carried unanimously. <br />Gas Inspector On motion by Shavor, seconded by Nilsen, the appointment <br /> of Elwood D. Larson as Village Gas Inspector for 1957, <br /> was approved by a unanimous vote. <br />Village Engineers Nilsen moved, seconded by Shavor, that Milner W. Carley <br /> and Associates b~ appointed Village I~hgineers for the gear <br /> 1957• Motion carried unanimously. <br />Civil Defense Shavor moved that Veronica K3elland b~ appointed Civil <br /> Defense Director, Women's Division, for 1957• Seconded <br /> by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Legislative Committee Utecht moved that the following be appointed to membership <br /> on the Village's legislative committee for 1957: Ralph Van <br /> Hoven, Chairman; B.J. Rechtiene, David P. Cartwright, Edwin <br /> Johnson, Howard Christensen and William Korstad. Seconded <br /> by Warkentien and motion carried unanimously. <br />Parks & Playgrounds On motion by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht, the following <br /> were appointed by a unanimous vote to membership on the <br /> Parks ~ Playgrounds Committee for 1957: B.J. Rechtiene, <br /> Chairman; Mrs. Joan Carley, A. Carl Kaechele, Yrs. Bonnie <br /> Johnson, Hazel Sorensen and Howard Rose. <br />Public Relations On motion by Utecht, seconded by Shavor, the following were <br /> appointed by a unaniri~ous vote to membership on the Public <br /> Relations and Liaison Committee: L.J. Rustad, Chairman; <br /> Mrs. R. Garfield, and Richard Johanson. <br />
