81'7 <br />Garage building Milton P. Craighead, 13b5 W. Iowa Avenue, presented application <br />permit for permit to build a garage and one-half, 1bx12, at 1365 W. <br />Iowa, together xith plans for same. On motion by Utecht, <br />seconded by Stewart, the building inspector xas authorized <br />to issue the permit. <br />Car ordered After discussion of the matter with Police Commissioner Arndt, <br />equipped for Warkentien moved that the Police Commissioner be authorized <br />policing to have installed on our police car, a spot light, txo red <br />lights, a stop light and the siren from one of the fire engines <br />xhen available, also to secure motor vehicle license and extra <br />keys. Stewart seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />Garaging and The matter of xhere the police car is to be kept xhen not in <br />care of police service xas discussed, also proposal for building a garage <br />car for the car on the Village Hall grounds, and the assigning <br />of one police officer to be responsible for the car xith <br />respect to greasing and maintenance. Trustees Warkentien ,and <br />Nilsen and Police Commissioner Arndt xere asked to study the <br />matter and bring in a recommendation. <br />Police car in Utecht moved that custody and control of the new police car <br />custody and be placed in Police Commissioner Donald Arndt, with authority <br />control of Police to designate xhen and by xhom the car shall be driven and with <br />.Commissioner Arndt authority to drax up proposed regulations for adoption by the <br /> council with respect to the use and control of the car. Seconded <br /> by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Insurance coverage Utecht moved that the Clerk be authorized to check with the <br />for police car Insurance Company as to the acquisition of the police car and <br /> make certain that proper insurance coverage is obtained i~ <br /> i~il~Fbefore the car is driven. Seconded by Stewart and <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br />Matching funds Letter cf April 22, 1957, xas read from Milton Bohn, Ch~.ef <br />for police car Patrol Officer, Sheriffs Office, relative to obtaining <br />radio unit matching funds from the Federal Civil Defense Administration <br /> based on the cost of our police car radio unit. Utecht <br /> moved that the letter be referred to Civil Defense Director <br /> Warkentien for contacting State Civil Defense headquarters <br /> for application forms, etc. Seconded by Stewart and motion <br /> carried unanimously. ' <br />Midway Ford Co. Letter from Midway Ford, 1850 University Avenue, St Paul, <br />letter re doing relative to their proposal to do all maintenance repairs on <br />repai rs on police our police car, was referred to Police Commissioner Arndt <br />car for recommendation. <br /> The matter of sewer contractors using the Fire Department's <br />Use of OCD hose OCD hose and the rater service was discussed with Fire Chief <br />and rater service Grumke. It xas stated regarding rater service that the <br />by Sewer Contractors contractors must make their own arrangements for hydrant <br /> permits thru the Water Department, City of St Paul. Stewart <br /> moved that the Fire Chief be authorized to designate a certain <br /> amount of hose to be made available to .the successful con- <br /> tractor at no charge upon xritten receipt and upon agreement <br /> by the contractor to return the hose in good condition and to <br /> p~ $1.00 per foot for any hose damaged. Seconded by Shavor <br /> and motion carried unanimously. <br />
