~z~ <br />Police salaries Police Commissioner Donald Arndt appeared before the council <br />increased and recommended that salaries of our part-time police officers <br /> be increased from $1.75 per hour to X62.00 an hour, stating <br /> that X2.00 an hour is what experiencelpolice officers in St Paul <br /> receive when they go outside the City on special detail work. <br /> After discussion, Warkentien moved that the rate of pay for <br /> each of our part-time police officers be increased 25 cents <br /> per hour, effective May 1, 1957• Seconded by Stewart and motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br />Sanitary Nick Christensen reported that in the Falcon Woods Addition <br />Sewer ~ that house connections were being put in in advance of the <br />Matters. sewer being laid in the street, Cleaning of the sewers after <br /> installation in Village streets was also discussed, Attorney <br /> Graham will check to see if this service can be had from the <br />Proposed sewer City of Saint Paul. Utecht moved that the matter of drafting <br />ordinances of a sewer connection ordinance, a sewer control ordinance, <br /> an ordinance providing for the licensing of plumbers, and any <br /> other pertinent ordinances, be referred to Councilman Shavor, <br /> the Village Engineer, Building Inspector Christensen and Mr. <br /> E.J. Pennig, for report back to the council on May 23, 1957 if <br />" possible. Seconded by Nilsen and motion carried unanimously. <br />Village Costs of Village engineering services were discussed with <br />Engineer's Vern L~ungren, with the understanding that the Village Engineer <br />fees should bill the Village for any amount in excess of his regular <br />monthly fee. <br />Street Vern L3ungren and Councilman Nilsen reported on p8~}uired <br />Patching - patching of streets in the differenC Village areas, and <br />pointed out that street maintenance work is being held to <br />a minimum pending installation of the sewers. <br />United Letter was read from Mrs. B.J. Tomaszewski, President, United <br />Cerebral Cerebral Fa1sy of Greater St Paul, asking that the pillage <br />Palsy honor a request to conduct a house to house canvass to raise <br />funds for United Cerebral Palsy on May 1~. Utecht moved <br />approval of the request, seconded by Shavor and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Weed Notice On motion by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen, the Mayor and Clerk <br />were authorized to sign a statment addressed to Carl F. Bucher, <br />Ramsey County Weed arxi Seed Inspector, to the effect that the <br />Village of Fal con Heights agrees to pay its share of the weed <br />notice publications for 1957. <br />Alley parking Letter of May 8, 1957, from Fire Chief Grumke was read, <br />& numbering of requesting that conditions in the commercial area at <br />rear entrances Larpenteur and Snelling Avenues be corrected; namely, <br />in commercial prohibit parking at any time in the alleys back of <br />area buildings, except delivery trucks; and require that all <br />rear entrances have street numbers posted over the doors <br />with reflective numbers not less than 3n high. Steuart <br />moved that the matter be referred to Police Commissioner <br />Arndt for checking and report. Seconded by Utecht and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />
