~? 4 3 <br />Police Squad It was reported that Officer. Kenneth Schmidt had an <br />Car Accident accident today with the police squad car on Larpenteur <br />Avenue near the entrance to the University Golf Course, <br />resulting in damage to the squad car but no personal <br />injuries. Information on the matter was referred to the _ <br />Village attorney. <br />Alley Inspection Engineer Ljungren's report of May 28, 1957, was read <br />Report by Village relative to a complete inspection of all alleys in the <br />Engineer Village, including (1) the seven improved alleys which <br />were surfaced by the Village (2) the alley from Hamline <br />to Albert between California and Idaho (3) the alley <br />from Pascal to Albert between Idaho and Iowa (Lt) other <br />alleys; namely, between California and Idaho from Pascal <br />to Arona; the alley between Idaho and Hoyt from Pascal to <br />Albert; also the alley back of ffiomberg's store from Iowa <br />to Hoyt, and the alley west to Albert. <br />Alley not approved On recommendation of the Vill age Engineer that the alley <br />for Village main- from Hamline to Albert between California and Idaho does <br />tenance not meet requirements .for Village maintenance, it was <br />agreed to ask the Mayor to so inform Mr. Edward Bowlin. <br />Alley approved The Village Engineer recommended that the Village take <br />for maintenance over for maintenance the alley from Pascal to Albert between <br />Idaho and Iowa, stating the alley has a built-up seal coat <br />mat 3/fit-inch thick, with drainage in both directions and <br />no place where water pocketed. It was agreed to follow <br />the Engineer's recommendation. <br />Resolution - On motion by Stewart, seconded by Nilsen, the following <br />(Work Order) resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote: <br />RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners be <br />requested to authorize the County Engineer to patch, <br />sv~eep and seal coat the folloxing alleys: <br />Alleys to be Block 2, Block 3, Block 5 and Block 6, Northome Addition; <br />patched, swept and ffiock 7 and Block 11, Northome Second Addition; <br />ffiock 13, Northome 3rd Addition; and ffiock 9, Kellers <br />Falcon Hei~tsAddition; and <br />Install alley RESOLVED FURTHER, that 15 MPH speed limit signs be installed <br />speed limit at the entrances to all alleys within the Village of~Fa~con <br />signs Heights in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic <br />Control devices and in accordance with permission granted <br />by letter dated May 21, 1957 from the Commissioner of Highways; <br />also that "Children Playing" signs be moved from the center <br />of alleys to alley entrances; and <br />Village Engr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all of the foregoing be done <br />will direct under the direction of the Village Engineer. <br />Alley back of Rees Engineer L~ungren reported that the alley behind the Rees <br />business property business property north of Larpenteur xas in bad condition. <br />north of Larpenteur Ljungren xas asked to recheck the alley and write a letter <br />to the Clerk recommending what is needed to put the alley <br />back in shape with estimated costs therefor: The Clerk <br />
