<br />Linda At 7125 P.M., the Mayor announced that arrangements had been made
<br />Keyes by our Fire Department to recognize in an appropriate manner the
<br />courageous action of Linda Keye, 4 year old daughter of Mr. and
<br />Mrs. W. R. Keyel!<26 California Avenue West, for her part in
<br />preventing a serious fire and tragedy at her home the night of
<br />July !t, 1957• Fire Chief Grumke presented Linda with a suitable
<br />badge and certificate, making her an honorary member of the Falcon
<br />Heights Fire Department. Man3r of Linda's playmates and their
<br />parents xere present. Also present xere the volunteer Firemen
<br />in uniform. A photographer from KSTP TV and a representative of
<br />The Rose Tribune xere present. A letter of thanks for the competent
<br />manner in xhich the Falcon Heights Fire Department handled the
<br />July 1i fire at their home xas read from Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Keye.

<br />Mosquito Mr. Otto Bonestroo, member of the Governo~t's Advisory Committee on
<br />Abatement Suburban Problems, and Mr. J. R. Sandve, Assistant.State Entomologist,
<br />Program appeared before the Council in connection xith a proposed Mosquito
<br />Abatement Program in five counties. Letter of July 23, 1957 from
<br />the Seasdyof Ramsey County Commissioners, advising that the estimated
<br />cost of a Mosquito Abatement Program in Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington,
<br />Anoka and Dakota Counties xould be X606,000; that on the basis of 50¢
<br />per capita, the levy permitted by lax, the five counties could raise
<br />X575,528, of which Ramsey County's share xould be X177,666. The County
<br />asked to be advised by resolution as to the thinking of Falcon Heights
