896 <br />Requisition covering office supplies needed by Clerk was approved on motion <br />No. 127 by Utecht, seconded by Warkentien. <br />Ramsey County Copy of Attorney Graham's letter of August lb, reporting on <br />Governmental legislation providing for the appointment by the County Board <br />Study of a Governmental Study Commission consisting of about t~2 <br />Commission members, was read. The letter stated the Commission is directed <br /> to conduct a complete investigation into the land use programs, <br /> the boundary, organization and functions of the several municipal <br /> subdivisions, municipal corporations and school districts in the <br /> County and to conduct hearings, investigate facts and law for the <br /> purpose of advising the County Board and the legislature concerning <br /> the developments of the governmental structure, the providing of <br /> governmental services and the organization of municipal subdivisions <br /> within the County. The Commission is directed to make its report <br /> to the County Board and to the legislature on or before January 1, <br /> 1959, including recommendations for action to be taken by the <br /> County Board and .the legislature and drafts of recommended legislation. <br /> It was further stated that the law provides that the Ramsey County <br /> Board shall appoint the Commission and that it shall include one <br /> from the Village Council of each Village in the County, and that <br /> the Falcon Heights Village Council is asked to nominate one member <br /> of the Council for membership on the Commission. <br />Trustee After discussion, Nilsen moved that Trustee Shavor be apmimated <br />Shavor for appointment to the Ramsey County Governmental Study Commission <br />nominated and that the Cler k write a letter to the Board of Ramsey County <br /> Commissioners, advising the Board of said nomination. Seconded <br /> by Warkentien and motion carried unanimously. <br />Sanitary Copy of the attorney's letter of August 22, 1957 to Land Commissioner, <br />Sewer St Paul, was read, relating to adoption of special assessment for <br />Assessment- Sanitary Sewer System Improvement No. 1, a portion of which is a <br />Barthel lien upon Lot 15, Block 1 of Barthel Villas which has apparently <br />Villas lot been forfeited to the State of Minnesota for taxes. <br />X88,000 payment Ordinance No. 10829 of the City of Saint Paul, approved September <br />for connecting 11t, 1956, granting permission to the Village of Falcon Heights <br />Village sanitary to connect to their public sewer system to the City of Saint Paul <br />sewer to St Paul system provided in Section 2 thereof that the Village should pay <br />system. to the City of Saint Paul on or before September 1, 1957, the <br /> sum of X88,000. On motion by Utecht, seconded by Warkentien, <br /> it was voted unanimously to authorize said payment. <br />- Fuel oil In connection with fuel oil requirements at the Village Hall and <br />bide, 1957-58 Fire Station for the 1957-58 heating season, i~ letters bidding <br />season on same were received from taro oil companies, one from The Pure <br /> Oil Company, quoting a price of .129¢ per gallon on No. 2 fuel <br /> oil delivered on a keep-fill basis, and one from Thorne Coal & <br /> Oil Company, quoting .118¢ per gallon for No. 2 fuel oil delivered <br /> on a keep-fill basis. Utechtmoved approval of the low bid <br />submitted by Thorne Coal & Oil Company. Seconded by Warkentien <br /> and motion carried. unanimously. <br /> <br />
