Seconded by Warkentien and <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Close ditch On recommendation of the engineer, Utecht moved to close the ditch <br />west side Hemline, along the west side of Hemline Avenue by the installation of an <br />install culvert 18-inch corrugated metal culvert from the end of the present culvert <br />at California Avenue to the alley south of Larpenteur, with install- <br />. ation of two catch basins and backfilling over the pipe, at an <br />estimated cost of ~~t5l~.00. <br />J.V. Lee, complained about the condition of his driveway and black dirt <br />18?~0 W. Larpenteur that. was hauled away by the sewer contractor, also said the <br />culvert at this address should be fixed this fall. Mr. Steffes <br />asked Mr. Lee to report these matters to the resident engineer, <br />Mr. Bentley, for inspection and handling. <br />Ralph H. Fulbright said they would not be able to get out of the mud if man holes <br />1610 Maple Knoll Dr, along Snelling were not installed, He was informed by Mr. Steffes <br />the street would be replaced and that it calls for one foot of <br />gravel. Mr. Steffes said it is not intended to replace the street <br />surface this fall but the streets will be re-oiled. <br />Truman Nodland, Letter from Truman Nodland was read complaining about the surer <br />17119 N. Fairview contractor removing taro to three felt of black dirt from in <br />front of his property which, he said, was replaced with sand <br />and gravel and less than two inches of black dirt. The matter- <br />was referred to Mr. Steffes. <br />Falcon Heights Letter of September 12, 195? from the Falcon Heights Congregational <br />Congregational Church Snlding Committee was read, requesting permission to move <br />Church Building the exising parsonage from its present location to Lot 22, Block <br />Committee 1, Barthel Villas. Mr. R. L. Johnson and Mr. L. H. Winfrey, members <br />request of the committee, spoke in behalf of the request. On advice of <br />the attorney that the council could make a determination that <br />granting of the permit for this particular lot does not interfere <br />with the natural drainage, Warkentien moved that the building <br />inspector be authorized to issue the necessary building permit. <br />Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. Prior to <br />the council's action letter was also read from En~ggineer Ljungren, <br />dated September 12, .957, stating in connection~~~,fie lot purchased <br />for the parsonage site that "Field inspection of this area revealed <br />that this should not have too much effect upon the drainage.." <br />Work Order - On motion by Nilsen, seconded by liarkentien, it was voted unanimously <br />Patch and seal to place work order with the County for patching and sealing alleys <br />Hollywood in the Hollywood Court Addition. <br />Court alleys <br />
