90ii <br />Engr's. report on Letter of September 10, 195?, from Mr. Steffes relative <br />inspection of to an inspection of the streets in which the sanitary <br />streets where sewer sewer and house stubs have been completed, was read. <br />& house stubs are The letter stated the inspection was made on September <br />in. ~t, 1957, by representatives of the J.11~. Craig Co., Mr. <br />Batley, the resident engineer, and Mr. Steffes, giving <br />their conclusions regarding the surfacing of said streets. <br />So that each member of the council and the Village Engineer <br />might have a copy of the letter, it was agreed to have <br />thtrmofax copies. made. <br />The engineer's recommendation to remove 6 inches of the <br />Engineer's top material on .Asbury between Garden and Ruggles to <br />recommendations permit of immediate oil stabilization, also his <br /> recommendation that those streets not presently in <br /> condition for surfacing this fall, be oiled with an <br /> application of 0.10 to 0.15 gallons per sq. yd of It~C~ <br /> to act as a binder for the surface of the 12 inches of <br /> granular material $$~a~ced~on these streets and that the <br /> oil stabilization'be c~`e~ayed until the spring of 1958, <br /> were discussed. <br />Recon~nendations Utecht moved ~pp~oval of the recommendations made in <br />approved the Engineer's letter of September 10, 1957. Seconded <br /> by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Proposed drainage of Village Engineer L3ungren's letter of September 12 <br />pond area, Snelling was read, reporting on information from the City of <br />and Idaho St Paul regarding the proposed construction of the <br /> Hoyt Avenue storm sewer the plans for which he said <br /> were in a very preliminary stage. Mr. L3ungren <br /> stated the City of St Paul Engineer office informed <br /> him that their preliminary plans indicate the man hole <br /> at Snelling Drive and Hoyt will be at an elevation of <br /> 943.1, the elevation of Snelling Drive .opposite the <br /> ponding area, 9l~0.0 and elevation of the low part of <br /> said area, 935, making; a lift of approximately 8 feet <br /> to get into the City manhole. The City, Mr. L~ungren <br /> said, pointed out that their elevations and grades <br /> are only tentative and may be changed when final <br /> construction plans are prepared. The letter resulted <br /> in considerable discussion of the matter. <br />Proposed storm sewer Engineer L3ungren's letter_of September 12, 195? was <br />construction along read in this connection, stating that the County <br />Larpenteur Avenue Engineer's office has included in their 1958 construction <br /> budget enough money to reconstruct Larpenteur Avenue <br /> from Fernwood to Snelling, including X25,000 in the <br /> budget for construction of a pumping station in Gottfried <br /> pit. He said construction of a pumping station is <br /> estimated to cost l~50,000, and that about half of this <br /> cost would be split between Roseville and Falcon Heights <br /> based on the amount of storm water from each Village. <br /> It was agreed to make thermofax copies of the letter <br /> for each council member. <br /> <br />
