g~~ <br />Surfacing Falcon Mr. Ljungren's letter of September 12, 1957 Was read, <br />Woods Addition relative to progress of the Work in connection With <br />streets Mr. Gage's efforts to surface the streets as required <br />in the Falcon Woods Addition. Preparations, he said, <br />were being made by the contractor for applying the <br />asphalt, but because of the rain the oiling would be <br />delayed. <br />Mail box locations Letter of September 12, 1957 from Engineer Ljungren Was <br />& delivery service read, reporting on information secured from the Falcon <br />Heights post office and the Downtown post office. regarding <br />mail box locations With reference to the street. The <br />Clerk also reported that in contacting the St Faul post <br />office he was informed that the council may file a <br />request for house or front door delivery service end <br />that the post office will check and advise if this can <br />be done.. Utecht moved that the Clerk be authorized <br />to Write the St Paul Post Office, requesting front door <br />delivery service on Tatum Street and Fairview Avenue. <br />Seconded by Warkentien and motion carried unanimously. <br />Garden & Rosela~rm Engineer Ljungren reported that Garden and Roselawn <br />Avenues not State Avenues were eliminated as State aid roads, but will <br />aid roads continue to be maintained by the County from the <br />County's road and bridge fund. <br />Permit for On motion by Utecht, seconded by Stewart, application <br />Pure Oil Co. of the Pure Oil Company to put up an iron and plastic <br />sign sign to replace the present sign in front of 1525 West <br />Larpenteur, was approved. <br />Payment to Fireman Letter of September ll, 1957 from Fire Chief Grumke was <br />fortistan ding Watch read, recommending that compensation for a paid fireman <br />for fireman on sick who is standing Watch for a man on sick leave be based <br />leave. on 1/lOth of his monthly salary, each paid fireman Working <br />ten 2!~-hour days per month. Seconded by Warkentien and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Fire Engineering Subscription to Fire Engineering magazine for Fire Chief <br />magazine Grumke through October 1958, at a cost of X3.50, was <br />authorized en motion by Warkentien, seconded by Nilsen. <br />PERA contribution Letter Was read from the County Auditor, dated September 6, <br />in 1957 tax levy 1957, stating that the 1957 levy should include a levy <br />for the Village's contribution for the Public Employees' <br />Retirement Fund, also for OASI if PERA members decide to <br />be covered by OASI. The Clerk was asked to refer the <br />letter to Treasurer Olsen. <br />Cloutier Accident The Attorney's letter of September 9, 19$7, was read, <br />settlemen reporting that the Mutual Service Casualty Company <br />to settle the matter Would pay a maximum of ~1 50 to <br />the Village.
