POLICY Hl <br />1/28/04 <br /> <br />ITEM: Confirmation of Falcon Heights' participation in the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation's Cooperative Agreement Funding <br />SUBMITTED BY: Bill Maertz, Director of Parks and Public Works <br />REVIEWED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: The Council is being asked to authorize the City Administrator to confirm Falcon <br />Heights' participation in MN DOT's FY 2005 Municipal Agreement Program. Falcon Heights <br />applied for funding for the Curtiss Field pond improvements. MN DOT has granted Falcon <br />Heights' request for funding, up to a maximum of $54,000. <br />As a condition of the Municipal Agreement Program, it is the responsibility of Falcon Heights to <br />develop a complete set of plans and specifications for the project as well as acquire any Right of <br />Way needed to construct the job. MN DOT requires written confirmation accepting the tentative <br />funding level as well as the design and right of way conditions. The City is in full control of the <br />Right of Way associated with this project, as it commenced and concluded condemnation of the <br />adjacent roadway in 2003, in preparation for the Curtiss Field Improvements. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />• Letter from MN DOT granting the City's funding request ~ ~ ~ O~ V <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Approval of the tentative funding level as well as the design and Right of Way <br />conditions <br />• <br />~b <br />
