Green <br />EXPLANATION/DESCRIPTION: <br />Summary and action re uested: The Council is being asked to adopt Resolution 04-12, <br />accepting the low bid and awarding the contract for the Curtiss Field Pond Improvements to Jay <br />Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $323,702.71 <br />Bids were received from two companies, as outlined below: <br />1. Jay Bros., Inc. $323,702.71 <br />2. Environmental Assoc. $492,972.40 <br />The engineer's construction cost estimate for this project was $357,546.00. The low bid from <br />Jay Brothers, Inc. is approximately 9.5% below the engineer's estimate. The city will only be <br />responsible for $238,825.40 of the total cost, and the balance will be covered by grants from <br />MnDOT and draws against the city's MSA account, as well as the park dedication fee paid by <br />Sherman & Associates. <br />Goa12: To maintain and promote the assets of the city's unique neighborhoods including <br />commercial, residential, and open space uses for present and future generations. <br />Strategy 4: Maintain the city's infrastructure. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />1 Letter from Greg Robinson, Staff Engineer <br />2 Letter from Bryan Dodds, Cooperative Agreement Project Engineer, MnDOT <br />3 Resolution 04-12 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Adoption of Resolution 04-12, and acceptance of bid from Jay Brothers, Inc. for the Curtiss <br />• Field Pond Improvements in the amount of $323,702.71. <br />
