POLICY HZ <br />9/28/05 <br />ITEM: Resolution adopting Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement between <br />the City of Falcon Heights, City of Roseville, and State of Minnesota <br />SUBMITTED BY: Greg Hoag, Director of Parks & Public Works <br />REVIEWED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />Deb Bloom, City Engineer City of Roseville <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: In 2004 the city received Roselawn Avenue as a turn back street from Ramsey <br />County. Roselawn is a border street that is shared with the city of Roseville. As a result of this <br />turn back, Ramsey County is no longer responsible for the maintenance and up-keep of the <br />traffic signal at Snelling and Roselawn. With three different government agencies now in control <br />of the intersection, a traffic control signal agreement has been drafted for approval by all three <br />governing bodies. <br />The following is a breakdown of responsibility by jurisdiction: <br />• Falcon Heights: Monthly electrical ex enses necess <br />p ary to operate the traffic control signal. <br />Roseville: Re-lamping, cleaning and painting of traffic control signal, streetlights and control <br />cabinets. <br />State of Minnesota (NINDOTI• Maintain signage, signal timing and all other signal and <br />streetlight maintenance. Also per addendum letter dated August 16, 2005 the State will be <br />responsible for Emergency Vehicle Pre-Emption equipment (Opticom) should it be installed at a <br />later date. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Traffic Control Signal Agreement No. 87752M, and addendum, MnDOT EVP Letter of <br />Understanding <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Adoption of Resolution No. 2005-12. <br />• <br />
