• PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT 9-13.03 <br />Subdivision 8. Real Estate Signs. Real estate (for <br />-'rent,-sales or lease)_signs may be placed in any yard <br />- of a lot containing the affected structure or land <br />. involved, provided such signs are not closer than ten <br />(10).feet to any property line and do not exceed a total <br />of six (6) square feet per lot frontage in residential <br />areas and thirty-two (32) square feet on any other lot. <br />However, real estate signs over six (6) square feet may <br />be constructed in any residential area providing that: <br />a. The sign area allowance fora combination of <br />lots in aggregate shall not exceed fifty (50) <br />square feet; <br />b. The signs are located at least one hundred <br />thirty (130) feet from any home;. <br />c. The signs are removed within one (1) year <br />unless an extension is given from the zoning <br />administrator. <br />d. A use permit is granted by the zoning admin- <br />istrator. <br />• Real estate signs over thirty-two (32) square feet <br />per lot frontage and exceeding other sign area <br />limits in business and industrial areas shall <br />~: ~ __,:_: require a variance. • <br />-. .- <br />'... ~ K <br />.. .~. _ <br />• - - . ~:•:8ubdivision :9. .Private Traffic Signs. Private traffic <br />circulation signs in parking lots and pedestrian <br />-. ~->~circulation signs in .alleys or other hazardous situations <br />.-maybe permitted provided such individual signs do not <br />.exceed three (3) square feet, the minimum number <br />necessary for purposes intended is utilized, and such <br />.signs are utilized exclusively for purposes intended and <br />- permitted. <br />Subdivision 10. Vacant Lots. Signs on vacant lots shall <br />be permitted in accordance with this chapter except where <br />governed by building frontage, in such cases, front <br />footage of public right-of-way shall be utilized. <br />Subdivision 11. Rooftop Displays and Aerial <br />Searchliahts. Rooftop balloons and rooftop displays are <br />not permitted except in a commercial zone for a maximum <br />of five days for a business grand opening or a special <br />- civic event sponsored or endorsed by the Falcon Heights <br />city council.'
